I sincerely ask, what does Kelly bring to our program?

At least with Miles and Orgeron the players fought like hell. Is it stability and a clean program? What does he offer because most of the team is soft as baby shite. We don’t execute at a high level on the field. We have stupid penalties. Call dead ball timeouts all the time. Still having special teams issues. I wouldn’t call him a great recruiter. He’s built a great recruiting staff which he needs credit for but he’s never been known to be a recruiter. Hasn’t had us ready to start the season in all three years. So that’s why I ask what does he bring to the table and why I should be excited for the future? He seems to underperform with the talent he has. I’m excited about the ‘25 class but I can’t help but think he’ll underperform here.

Some of you are forgetting just how bad some of the Les and Orgeron games got when it was bad, and it shows.
Ya'll are remembering 2005-2011 and 2019, and that's it.

Well, he's winning more than those guys did at the end.
Les inherited a top program from Nick and his final 2 years were 9-3 & 8-5.
Ed inherited a program full of talent including Adams, Fournette, Donte, Beckwith, Guice, White, etc. and his final two years were 5-5 & 6-7.
Kelly inherited a dumpster fire and has went 10-4 & 10-3 through his first two full seasons.
Theoretically, LSU should've been in a fantastic place the last two years of Ed and Les but thy both let the program slip as time went on.
Now, no question Kelly needs to get over the hump at some point but i'll put it to you this way....
Once Les left LSU and went to Kansas where he had a roster void of talent, he went 3-18.
Ed outside of 2019 has never lost less than 3 games in his coaching career and has lost 5 or more games 5 out of his 9 full seasons.

Lots of downvotes and replies yet still no answer. What makes Brian Kelly so special? If he we get our asses clapped against Clemson next year to start the season should he be on the hot seat?

Kelly brings a Heisman Trophy winning QB.

He brings a level of stability that we lost under Coach O's final years. 10 wins isn't sexy to us but it puts us firmly in the Top 15/20 minimum. Which means with 12 and then 14 teams in the playoffs we're closer. Just need a coach who can be a killer on the sideline and a CEO of the program.

You seem to greatly underappreciate how difficult stability is.
You can look around year after year and see the shiny new toy, the next year that toy is broken. The list of guys who have risen and fallen in the time frame Brian Kelly has been winning 10 games a year is extensive.
Stability is massive. Its the reason Miles hung on so long and lack there of is what got Orgeron the boot so quickly.

Kelly has brought some structure and processes that have worked well to keep players on the team and eligible.
I see less players in trouble and better structure that hasn't paid many dividends on the football field. Right now we're running a very high cost young adult and social media development program.

I saw Kentucky beat down Orgeron’s team in person. First game I ever attended, that was rough.

I think its fair to say he has brought some stability and maturity of judgment to the program that was deeply lacking in Ed O's last two seasons.
Beyond that, he has helped with some of the culture issues on the team and recruited reasonably well.
His r3ecord is very similar to Saban's at the same point. BUT, at the end of three years Saban had the program on a very positive trajectory. Cannot say the same for Kelly.

I’m so tired of you guys talking about Ed O and Miles “at least they did this”
All the frustration with BK you guys are feeling? Multiply that by 10 and space it out over several years. That was the same feeling you had with Miles.
Orgeron didn’t take his job seriously after he won the natty. Period. We needed someone in who was a proven winner to stop the bleeding and we did that. Unfortunately we had to pay a 10 year 100 million dollar contract.
But Woodward weighed the options and decided it was better to overpay for a sure thing than underpay for a Napier. When I say sure thing, I mean, he won’t let the wheels fall off. They haven’t. We’ve gone 9-3 in the regular season twice and have a chance to do it again this season.
Winning a national championship is extremely rare. The odds are, BK will not win one. Kirby may not ever win another one. Look at all the best coaches you can think of, right now. How many do you think will win a championship? 2? How many championships do you think the best one out of that one will win? 2?
Getting Kelly was still the smart move. It’s better to have a high floor low ceiling than a low floor and a ceiling you can’t even account for yet.
People talk about Lane Kiffin like he’s the greatest coach ever and he has zero championships.

Off the field, no doubt. He has done a tremendous job cleaning up off field discipline and the program overall seems stronger than its been in a long time. We are a well oiled corporation making money hand over fist and a solid product for our investors.
On the field, we are an absolute shite show. No quality control whatsoever. Constant missed assignments, no gap containment on defense, the run blocking scheme is a joke in both design and execution and we are good for 3-4 pre-snap penalties per game. Even at our "best" we come out flat, struggle the first half and have to make numerous half time adjustments to win games. That works well against average teams. It is a 4-9 disaster against ranked teams.

YES. That is exactly what the priority was when he was hired. You nailed it.
In fact, I think MANY at the time were OK with a perennial 10 win program, occasional NC run.
That’s exactly what I remember was the story on CBK when he was hired.
