You will find plenty of people who questioned the pitch calling, Probably much less people who said he actually sucks.

Like anybody, he can be knit picked, but Yeskie is a great coach and his results at LSU are evident.

I’ve bagged on yeskie some. It’s just so hard to be patient when the stuff is that good up and down the roster. That is what it is supposed to look like. Job well done

I think Yeskie makes some questionable pitch calls in games. I think that's what gets fans riled up. He's obviously really good at developing players over the course of the season.

The biggest gripe I had with Yeskie is that it seemed like he would try to call pitches that nibbled the strike zone and it got some pitchers in trouble (Shores, for example).

Well, it turns out he was playing the long game here, because those missed nibbles turned into strikes in the CWS because for a few years now, the zone has widened just a bit once teams got to Omaha. Will I remember this next April when LSU loses a game from a few walks? Absolutely not.

I wonder if he had gotten kind of stale in his previous gig and coming to LSU revitalized him a little.

It's an issue with LSU fans. Bad performance = bad coach.

Find me a PC in college baseball with a better resume than Nate Yeskie.

He was great this year. Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be fired though.

They also griped about coaches Johnson, Jordan and Wanaka along with Shores, Eyanson, Cowan, Evans, Jared Jones, Milam, Stanfield, Frey, Braswell, Dickinson, Hernandez and Brown.

Probably some other players, too...

I remember reading g those too…… however, this is a board of opinions. They, those posters, thought at the time, yeskie was a liability and not an asset. Now, they see different. How many pro athletes could we name that were traded early in their career and then were really special? Those coaches, at that moment, thought they should be traded- it’s life. Who doesn’t make a mistake at times?
I don’t think coach kelly is our answer to football. I hope I’m wrong; truly! But if I was boss, I’d move him out. Just sayin

I was guilty . The fact that it took till last month or so for some of these guys to be effective is noteworthy. But maybe the learning process was more extensive. Alls well that ends well.

Same people kept parroting “Jays overthinking this” on his way to another NC while they’re sitting on their couch. It’s odd.

There are over 160 pitches in most games; surely some are going to be questionable. Plus, if he always called what you think should be called he’d probably be fairly predictable.
