But mah 2009.

If only Larry Coker or Gene Chizik could have gotten as much mileage from their single titles as Paul does.

It's the same situation we were in with Miles. Expectations aren't being met, but will a change result in something better?

Two guys in the unemployment line currently. It’s also where Paul belongs.

These arguments are giving me deja vu of the end of the les miles era. I mean literally the exact same points.

Ignorance on display. They both have had pretty good jobs since they were fired at Miami and Auburn.

Except it's not.

One had failed for his past 5 seasons to reach any significant post season game much less win any.

The other continues to reach post season games and was in the final just 2 seasons ago.

Now check back when Paul starts to miss the tournament. I'll be the first in line for him to be fired

Well one of those teams with their new coach actually scores against Bama each year (and even occasionally wins? Wow!)
So there is that

Kevin O'Sullivan has the same amount of titles. As does Tim Corbin. There is no one currently coaching right now that has more titles than PM.

If you want to criticism him for decision making and underachieving this year, that's fine. But bitching because he has "only" won one title is absurd.

Live look-in at Miami post-coker: 0 of the last 12 years finishing in the top 10.

Live Look-in at Auburn post Chiz: 2 of the last 6 years finishing in the top 10.

We don't have to worry about a do nothing AD, and any coach worth a damn saw the atmospherics and would be lining up for the job.

using the excuse of Maineri is making the postseason is a stupid reason to keep him. hes supposed to make the postseason at LSU! that excuse may fly at other baseball programs but not here. The standard is Omaha and chammpionships. if youre not accomplishing those here at LSU then you are underacheiving!

And that coach would be demanding an onerous buyout clause because because he would be following a guy who was just fired after reaching a super regional.

LSU ain't the only game in town anymore. Clearly, a good HC can win and compete for national titles at a school who places FAR less emphasis on the sport and FAR less scrutiny on its coach.

Obviously, the flip side is that, unlike 99% of schools, LSU is willing to pay a substantial salary to a head baseball coach. But whoever the new guy would be would have LSU completely over a barrel at the negotiating table and likely demand the same kind of buyout clause PM has. Then, in 3 years if he's not producing championships the fanbase will want him gone and LSU would have to eat another massive buyout (relative to college baseball salaries) to let him go. That cycle would basically ensure the baseball program doesn't generate a profit for numerous years.

LSU in baseball = Bama in football

Meaning we expect to be in Omaha at the end of the season, not winning it all at Omaha is disappointing, anything less is unacceptable within reason!

Well suck it up buttercup because our nick Saban of baseball retired years ago.

Bama football will be the same when savan retires.

Just because we as fans expect it doesnt mean we are right.

Again Paul ain't going anywhere so if you upset then you'll be upset atleast a few more years
