I now get why Ole Miss and Tennessee were so mad when Lane left

We’ve had one offseason and one game and it’s quite a ride. I get it now.

Was Florida Atlantic mad, or do they have fans? I guess they got it.

Alabama fans are too arrogant to appreciate this.

This is crazy, but I honestly can’t imagine us losing a game. This is how I felt when Joe Burrow was our QB.

I’m sure we’ll crash down to earth at some point, but LSU football is fun again, and that’s what it’s all about.

It’s like having a crazy girlfriend. The sex is incredible, but she will absolutely make you want to kill yourself when you inevitably have to break up.

He gave Ole Piss 6 years…. I really do think he will be here at least 10 which is more than we can ask for

Tennessee and OM thought they were big enough to keep him for the long term. FAU understood where they stood in the relationship and were grateful for the attention of their little fling.

I agree! When you have a coach like him, things are always either really good or really bad. There is no in between!

Look, if he’s here 4-5 years and we get this, we have to see it as a win. No one stays anywhere long term any more. College players are only on a team for a year or two before they transfer.

The best thing that can happen is the LSU brand expand, we bring in more fans, more donors, and we build this thing out. Lane will leave us like he’s left everyone. Or, he will flame out in some kind of glorious fashion. But, it will be quite a ride, which is better than the 7-6 and 22 ppg and empty Tiger Stadium last year under Brian “you guys are spoiled” Kelly.

I used to would've disagreed with you thinking that he might would leave us for NFL years ago. But in the current college football landscape, he's the perfect coach for this era. I think if Lane has success he will be with us for a long time.

They will likely lose some games this year, but week 1 seemed to show the team can compete with anyone and make a run in the playoffs. Need to stay healthy and keep improving.

And, knowing that LSU has had his back from the Governor to Senators and Congressman to the fanbase to the Administration all the way up and down has got to be surreal for him.

If he wins, I don’t know where else he’d go, unless he wants to go to the NFL again. But, then fine. Thanks for the memories.

Ole Miss and Tennessee were mad when he left because he's a good coach.

Were we upset when Miles was fired and went to Kansas?

Were we upset when Kelly was fired and the joke was that he'd go coach Penn State or someone else?

No!

We were very upset when Nick Saban left, though, and even more upset when he returned to the college game at a conference opponent.

Ole Miss and Tennessee are butthurt because they couldn't retain a quality coach.

I mean I can see us losing but the fun is definitely back which is awesome. Brian Kelly never brought that juice. And outside of 2019 the juice has been largely missing since 2012.

They're mad because of what might have been for them. They know Lane is a great coach and after working for both Pete and Nick, he has now matured. Just look at how he matured at OM. The first year there he went to Bama and said get your popcorn ready and proceeded to get his arse beat. Then basically kept his mouth shut everytime he played his daddy and got some wins.

Exactly. I would say 95% or more LSU fans are aware of what LK is all about. We are NOT naive. Hopefully he's stays longer than 4/5 years but he is going to win a lot here & we will enjoy the ride. This is fun to see the fear.
