It's baseball, and not every move will work all the time, but goddamn, what else does the man have to do to prove that he knows what the frick he is doing in the dugout?

His players love him, play for him, believe what he tells them. They play their asses off, reward his trust and teaching, and just win.

Remind you of anyone?

but if we take Coleman out earlier, it may not have gotten to that point....we would have shut them out with the way the bullpen pitched.

I liked all of his position switches except for when he took out Nola and put in Hanover. Nola's been batting pretty good lately and I felt it made our infield weaker. But still, I trust him and I'm glad we got a helluva team as well as a helluva coach

Mainieri coached a pretty bad game tonight regardless of outcome.

He left Coleman in too long.
He should have pinch hit Leron for Mahtook.
Why is our cleanup batter batting under .300?

Seriously, Coleman should have been pulled. This BS about not walking people and "only" giving up solo shots is idiotic. UT was driving pitches deep and they were on to Coleman's act. It was time for a pitching change in the 4th inning. Luckily CJ rolled in and mowed em down.

Augie also screwed his team...I understand pulling Ruffin for a situational lefty-lefty matchup with Wood against Mitchell, but Wood has been complete shite in the CWS, letting LSU back into the game just like he did with USM in the first game. And we obviously saw why Workman and his 97 mph fastball aren't a part of the weekend rotation for the Horns...absolutely no control.

The game never really got away from LSU, although Coleman struggled. I had no problem with him staying with the ace.

Leron Landry plays for the Redskins, and Mahtook hit the game winner. Fail.

Has been all year, but has been hot in the CWS.

Ok, I agree he left Coleman in too long, but as a result of that we will have more pitchers available for tomorrow. It is easy to second guess coaches, but remember he recruited, signed, developed and put this Awesome squad together too. Try doing that sometimes, even it Little league it aint easy. And Yes I have done it. (In Little League) lol

Its nice to sit back in hind sight, but these are the 2 best teams in the country, it cant be easy to coach against, pitch against, hit against, play defense against, im not gonna 2nd guess either of these coaches, i have new found respect for Auggie and the Texas team, but this was a very critical game in this series, it May have been the straw that broke the Texas back, but it aint over yet.

Sticking with Helenihi instead of Nola was questionable at best. 1-16 in the CWS...
