Am I the only one who wants to see Longstreet sling it around the next time we have garbage time? I would love to see what Longstreet looks like throwing the ball and see if hes the better overall qb for the future.I would hate to have him transfer out without seeing what type of talent he has.

Yep I was about to say Arkansas in the only chance they will have most likely and possibly not even then.

Probably discussed his role beforehand, I’ve heard they paid him pretty well (2 mill range) to sit and develop.

First, Longstreet has played.

Second, do you not think the coaching staff is getting a good look at him, and has a good idea of what the future would look like? Why would you seeing him help determine anything? You have had chances to see him, but obviously don't watch, since you think he hasn't played.

As far as pure passing ability, there’s no doubt Longstreet is the better overall QB for the future. While Longstreet still has work to do to get better, he’s already a way more polished passer than Clark. But that’s really not saying much because Clark’s accuracy is horrendous.

This is exactly why I hope they give Longstreet a chance. I understand them using clark in the role they do of using him as a run threat on the goaline. But I want to see Longstreet be the first one off the bench to truly run the whole offense. I feel they might get more out of it in that scenario.

When it comes to backups at any position, I don't need to see them play.

This particularly applies to QBs.

Kiffin and Weis see them enough in practice. I'll defer to them.

I never said he hasnt played but he hasnt had the chances clark has had. I was at the Clemson game and saw Longstreet complete a deep pass to Phillip Wright. But he has not had a chance with the twos to run the offense and see what hes really got as a qb.

I think he knows that. He’s just posing the question since Landon is an able runner and has work to do at tossing.

However Landon and husan will get a good chance this spring. Sure one could leave. Or both. But also Sam may stay.

You know it is possible that it isn't a talent gap as the reason he hasn't played more.

Absolutely is not accurate at all the reason he was the #3 QB in spring. From what I read he had a few good scrimmages before the Clemson game, so he was promoted. The boy can run no doubt but people that watched him in strongly agreed he should not be #2 that Longstreet is the clear #2. Lane runs things differently that's for sure so let's see how it turns out. I can't see Longstreet staying another year especially with pop coming in.

Maybe Clark is further along in grasping the offense?

He’ll have the whole second half of the bama game to do that

Maybe Longstreet just isn't that good and maybe that's why Lane has him behind Clark as third string? Just a thought. I'm sure he knows more than you and me and he clearly thinks Clark is the #2.

Kiffin doesn’t want any new film so he can’t get tampered with. Letting Lando Clark put out some not so great audition tape

Clark really hasn't done much with his opportunities. I'd rather Leavitt running at the goal line (if healthy). I'd would have loved to see Longstreet getting some playing time in the earlier blowouts. We saw a few minutes, but nothing to determine if he's part of the future.

If we are paying $2 million to see if he develops, we have some of the worst recruiters in the world. No way he is getting that much to see if he is any good in two years.

I trust Kiffin and Weiss. If they have him stuck on the 3rd team, then that is all the information I need to know.

He has not had equal Reps/chances IN A GAME.... I would bet my neck on a block, they were both given chances in practice (especially fall camp) and the coaches decided that Clark had EARNED the game reps....

During practice the players compete for Game reps. If clark beat Longstreet for the #2 job, and earned those Game reps, It would be unfair to Clark to take reps he earned so Longstreet can have chances he did not earn.

You gotta win at practice if you want to compete on game day.
