I know the Braves are doing good and we're feeling good, but Acuña has been a buzzkill

I feel like he's basically been Rafael frigging Belliard in these playoffs. He'll do something scrappy every once in a while, but other than that he looks completely overmatched at the plate and pitiful.

Much like THE JUDGE, he will get it together.

He played pretty well last night I thought although he did only have the one hit.

I don't pull for the Braves against very many teams, but I sure would love to see the Ponzis lose in this round. That house of cards is about to fall anyway, may as well get it started early.

I'm more concerned about Baldwin than Acuna.

Baldwin swings so hard at everything that it looks like his eyes are closed. Or maybe he swings so hard at everything that his eyes are closed.

Acuna has been bad and the double play was awful but he did score one of our 3 runs and has been taking walks a lot. But yes, he is not playing well

Agreed … he appears to be just going through the motions

I think it's the opposite.

He is pressing incredibly hard because he's a very emotional guy that feels the pressure and that usually doesn't end well.

He's actually been one the Braves better OBP guys over these 5 playoff games, but he is stranding a shite ton of dudes on base in key moments.

I agree with this. Anyone who has interviewed him or spent time around him throughout his Braves career has all said a variation of the same thing, that he loves playing baseball more than anything else on the planet. He definitely cares.

Before the oblique injury, Baldwin was a really good lefty on lefty hitter. After the oblique injury, he has been one of the worst in the league.

For the "going through the motions" crowd, pay attention to which Braves player is cheering the most when we score, even when he has nothing to do with it.

Very fair to criticize Acuna for not producing, but miss me with "he's selfish and doesn't care" nonsense.

glass half full take
Braves are in a good position even without him contributing. If he goes back to the old Acuna, they could make a run.

He was their best hitter the entire month of September

We just have to hope he comes alive

Harris and Albies have been our best hitters so far.

Riley has been shite outside of the clutch HR in game 1.

Baldwin needs to be moved down in the lineup imo for the teams sake and his.

We should go somethin like

Harris
Acuna
Olson
Dubon
Baldwin
Ozzie
Riley
Yaz/Thomas
Murphy/DH

It breaks up the log jam of too many leftys at the top of the order. I would be cool with swapping ozzie and dubby here as well

He is putting the ball in play -- but has been a magnet for grounders to third and short

This Phillies/Dodgers pitching combo is giving him stuff to hit low in the zone or just below it and he keeps drilling it into the ground. Got to hope he is able to start elevating some potential doubles and homers.

On the plus side, he is not wildly swinging at a bunch of stuff way out of the zone.
