His passes have a lot of air under them and I’m afraid he will be prone to interceptions.
Yeah, over the defender into the receivers hands.

The defense ran the same 2 looks the whole game..........
Scratches head, wonder why the other two quarterbacks didn't figure it out.
People come up with the strangest excuses.
Give credit, even it was only a spring game.

hot take....if Nuss played the bowl game, he'd be QB1 right now/no debate.

He really could have won the job with a good showing in the bowl game. I’m my opinion it would have been worth the risk to bet on himself.

Seems like lefties are the ones that always have the long windup releases

I think for the most part people seem to see what they want to see out of these guys. To me, miles looked like the best option. Nuss looked the best 75% of the time, and then he would throw it to the defense. Daniels looked bad until the 2nd half where he improved, but his throwing motion was awkward, and he seemed a little Inaccurate. I’d like to see what they look like after a few days of camp.

I’m convinced that Nuss will sit out and everyone will just pass him by.

Then he should just transfer now. Why was another year?

I mean, if the staff doesn't name him the starter then that means the staff is very intellectually dishonest. In that case it's time to go.

Well this will be won in the fall anyway. If they give each an offense that fits their play style and one of them starts to elevate from that change then that will likely be the starter no matter what they’ve done so far. If they all stay equal then it will be a cumulative decision. Any of them could get much better come the fall and they have an offense geared to their strengths.

Just a thought on the QB completion as it relates to performance in Spring Game - QB were not blitzed and defense ran vanilla. QBs should dominant especially if they can run.
Results - Jayden is limited reading defenses. Should only be given run plays. Been playing QB 3 years why would we expect him to become a consistent passer. Garrett - everyone is excited but could his spring performance been over inflated due to escapability and lack of defensive formations? He is able to buy time and make incredible throws. Myles - LSU staff picked him to attend Manning Camp. He’s your 1st game starter.

Hasnt Myles been like every year?
Nuss’ dad is a QB coach. I don’t think he needs to attend some fluff camp

he doesn't get the starting job, he probably will. I mean, by all accounts he won all 15 spring practices, threw far less interceptions, and had by far the best spring game. I mean, if the staff doesn't name him the starter then that means the staff is very intellectually dishonest. In that case it's time to go.
And you know this how?

Agree
The first 15 practices under new coaches with new schemes mean very little. Looking good in a spring scrimmage means very little. They were still learning the ABCs and how to walk.
Handling the new offense and being prepared to face SEC defenses is the bar to reach. Being a leader when they hit the field in the Dome is more important than the spring practices. My opinion, worth what you paid, is Brennan will get the first shot to perform. Do or die from there. He can shut the door on the others or play badly and give them a shot.

I agree. I personally think he gives us the best chance to win games. I think the "gunslinger" mistakes are a little overplayed. Yes he will make mistakes because he is a RS Freshman QB. I will live with him trying to make a play when the pocket breaks down over watching Max step into pressure in Tuscaloosa any day of the week.
Also I'm so tired of people saying he has "IT" (Melvin in this thread). This was the same thing people did with Johnson last year.
People that want Nuss to start do not recognize the huge turnover problem he is going to have this season. I can see it clearly. People have really lost themselves over a spring game and practices.

I remember one distinct throw where Jay Ward should have picked it, what were the others?

If Nuss goes in and wins the game with big numbers you can bet your arse he’s the front runner going into fall camp.

Who is to say Nuss isn't the front runner going into camp?
Kelly said Miles was ver steady and made the right plays.
He said Nuss was consistent and could make all the throws even when under pressure.
He also said, the Spring practice has shown we have another QB that is in the competition.
Fact: Nuss was the more accomplished QB in the Spring game. He made quick decisions and his passes were on target. He drove the team down the field each time he was in charge of the offense.
He looked like a leader who was in charge of the offense.

Kelly alludes to this almost every time he talks about Nuss. Denbrock went after Daniels because they arent convinced Nuss will protect the ball.
Dont forget he threw 3 picks in his first spring game. You cant coach the gunslinger out of most QBs
quote:
I think you just try to coach them on the things that matter the most and that is taking care of the football. He’s gonna make some mistakes.

I think you’ve got to be careful with a guy like that who’s really talented that you don’t overcoach that and make sure he takes care of the football.

(Nussmeier) was running boot. He's not really good as a boot guy, he doesn't protect the ball well.
