The rule is contact to the head OR NECK of a player. He had a huge bleeding cut on the side of his neck from the hit. What did they think that was?

Cause it wasn’t targeting. Got hit in the shoulder! Was it a crappy hit absolutely but if that would have been devin white you would be on here post a gif of the hit and how it was such a textbook hit

Thought the no call on the late hit out of bounds was worse

especially after they picked up the flag

These calls get so obvious at times. It really makes you scratch your head.

What I don’t get is how that wasn’t targeting but what white did was.

I just Want consistency.

Can we all agree the all refs, on all levels, have no clear idea of what constitutes as targeting. Also can anyone provide clear evidence that target calls have decreased concussions?

To me the referees call what the F that want to, when and where they want to. I don’t think we have an abundance of good referees in the SEC if truth is known and they definitely do have bias, their human and I am sure the bet on the games indirectly. It’s crap we lost to A&M over it and so many bad calls and no calls. If truth be known Burrow may have a concussion today. I simply am anti the way the games are referred and think stark changes should go into place. These boys risk life and limb for this sport and they seems to take it as just another play. They should sit out the whole year after they have so many bad calls per year then the jerks might want to get it right.

The helmet made contact with his chin twice. One on the hit, and when he grinned Burrow in the ground

White lead with his hand

There was helmet to helmet contact but there was on Joe too.

And the guy launched

He got nailed in the neck AND was defenseless AND the defender lowered his head to make contact

Sorry guys, there will never be consistency.

The more judgment calls the ncaa creates , the more conversations we will have about this nonsense.

This is playground level poor officiating.

Honestly think the officials were just out of sync all night, but the first quarter was rough.

yes and the interception that wasn't reviewed; I thought his arse hit in bounds.

it was a poorly called game. or, rather, they didn't want to make a lot of reviews due to the next game up. there were a lot of close calls in that game.
