Never underestimate Myles' ability to run. If called upon, he is certainly capable of executing a designed running play (check out Joe Burrow v Georgia, 2018, 4th quarter, 2:30 remaining, 60 yd. run).

Max johnson knows exactly where to go with the ball. How do you know myles is smarter?
The Only thing and i mean the only thing holding max back is his arm strength. If he could rip it down the seam it wouldn't even be close.

Please google Max’s highlights from last year. The very first one I’m the ole miss reel is him nailing the TE down the seam.

If Myles is the starter, LSU will inevitably lose three or four games this upcoming season because the upper echelon SEC teams will be able to slow down Myles via the pass rush enough to win.
If Max is the starter, on the other hand, no one will be capable of slowing him down and LSU will have an excellent chance to win every game LSU plays in.
Moreover, Myles doesn't have a killer instinct like Max has. As Myles had the ball on the Missouri one yard line with a first and goal and failed to score and win that game.
Meanwhile, Max led LSU to two come from behind victories against much better teams than the teams Myles lost to. Plus he did it without Terrace Marshall and Arik Gilbert.
Moreover, if Max is the starter in 2021, as opposed to Myles, in 2022 Max will be experienced enough for LSU to make another natty championship run if they can put together a good enough offensive line. As both Boutte and Gilbert will be juniors.

You mean, like he did against Missouri at the end of the game last season?

If you watch those Max at Florida highlights, you have to appreciate that this is a true freshman playing in one of the most hostile environments in the SEC (albeit during Covid). Although we say our OLine was better by this game, he is under duress every play. He gets hit almost every play. Dude is an absolute gamer.
Not gonna shite on Myles, because he’s really good as well.

Exactly.
Max Johnson can run. That's what he has on Brennan. This whole "he doesn't get rattled" thing, we thought the same about TJ against USCe. Let's see how Max does when he has something to play for. We had nothing to lose last season.

Running for a quarterback really doesn't factor into their "ceiling
Max's ability to keep the play ALIVE by running is part of his ceiling just like Burrow's ability to do the same.

While i personally think that Myles takes snap #1....it is because having graduated already he is a now a professional football player. However, both play in each game to start the season.

It's not easy to run when you have torn abdominal muscles and are writhing in pain.

I truly feel like Brennan wins the job if it’s remotely even and it’s because it’s the “safe bet”.
By that I mean if you play Brennan and he struggles then you can make the switch and the future is good.
If you start Max and he struggles and you have to switch to Brennan, it may put a seed of doubt in Max for next year.
Not to mention you don’t want Brennan to transfer but I feel like that’s not a huge issue because Brennan saw last year that the #2 QB is a play away from being the guy. I think he’d wait till after the season to transfer like Hurts did.
Obviously the best player should play and if Max is better than he should start, my scenario only holds true if they are pretty even in practice.

I remember. This place was flooded with comments like:
“He has the it factor.”
“The team clearly responds to him better than they do to Myles.”
“He’s be beat talent and it’s not even close.”
“He’s more mobile than Brennan. Teams have to respect the RPO.”
Now that he’s leaving, the consensus is that he’s an entitled, overhyped arm talent without any other skills that will be lucky to crack the starting 11 at a P5 school.

Max went on the road and beat the #6 team in the country. Who has Myles beaten??
That was easy.
True! However, how many games did Florida win without
Kyle Pitts?
We are so fortunate to have the three QBs available when we need them.
I believe Brennan will be the starter but won't be upset if its Johnson.
Both, IMO, are deserving.

You’re so wrong it’s hilarious. Thank God the rant doesn’t coach for LSU. Max is your starter. If you don’t like it you can keep crying on here.

I’m laughing at both of you because neither of you know anything about which QB knows what.

ITT: Myles Brennan’s fan base salty as frick. They can’t accept that Max was better as a freshman than Myles was in his 4th year.

Temper your expectations. Don't forget that this was the attitude about every backup quarterback for about 10 years until Burrow showed up.
