I hope we enjoy having only a true freshman QB on the bench. Brennan was on pace to set offensive records last year, but the defense at the beginning of the year was setting records for how bad they could be. I just don't see how Brennan does not transfer if he is benched for an injury. Maybe I am wrong and Brennan will stick around regardless. He did not transfer when they brought in Burrow.
I sincerely hope that Brennan wins the job and has a great year. Then Johnson can fight it out with Nussmeier and Howard in 2022 (only 3 QB on scholarship).
At any rate, LSU as well as most teams, will have to figure out how to get more QBs in the future since everyone who does not start these days transfers. Finley was a local 3 star recruit that I hoped would be here a few years to develop. He only made it 1 "sort of" year and he is gone.
Somehow LSU needs to find a QB or Two that is good enough to develop, but who really wants to be at LSU.

During that offensive passing yard flurry of Brennan you mentioned, we were also averaging under 65 rushing yards per game, getting sacked at a furious clip, and losing time of possession .... all which contribute to a young, inexperienced, depleted, and poorly run defense looking even worse

Yeah some people are setting themselves up for disappointment, and it’s not even necessary. Of course Myles will be the starter in Game1.
That’s not to say he’s the better QB necessarily or will win more games, or be the QB at season’s end, but he absolutely 100% will be the starting QB when the season begins.

All everyone can say about brennan is how many yards he threw for.
No shite. He had marshall, gilbert, AND Boutte.
Max only had Boutte. People want to pick on max for only looking for boutte, well guess what, he was the only person getting open.
Koy moore isn't that good and will get passed up.
Jenkins was probably his second option.
Max is and should be the starter.
