OMG!!!! A play that didn't work each and every time. The HORROR!!!
right you forget this is the board where if a play results in a negative outcome needs to be thrown out and the OC fired lol

Name one other team, pro or college, that you have seen run it?

The 49ers have run it before, not often but they have run it. They have even ran it with a counter and pulled RB side guard over.

get used to not liking it, because les loves it.

As does CC. He's said as much; more pros than cons in his book. It really has worked much more often than not. Agree with another poster who mentioned these big backs, i.e. Hill, Hilliard and Fournette are well fitted for that particular play.

This right cheer!! And then found ourselves in too many 3rd and long situations

We led the NCAA in 3rd down conversion this year and had the 2nd highest % in the last decade. It doesn't matter how good your QB is, that takes 3rd downs that are manageable.

Every team has running plays that get stuffed. Hell averaged almost 7 ypc which was the best in the SEC for anyone with 100+ carries

Did you see the practice film of LSU running the zone read play with the option to pass to WR in the flat? Other teams are about to start running that play all across the country.

UCLA has been doing it for 2 years now with Brett Hundley

And I first remember LSU running it against Arkansas in 2003.

Maybe Gus was just late to the party.
