Not really proven yet, but Notre Dame this week will be a good test, albeit it is a home game for USC.
I know the Rant likes to shite on ND...but they are playing alot better. Guess what...they got the Oline and Dline to impose their will on teams at this point. Wonder why...

Notre Dame will beat USC. Forget their game against Navy (like our game at ArKansas). Notre Dame went into Syracuse and smoked them, then the next week did the same thing against Clempsun. USC won't be able handle their running game and ND's defense will be able to slow down the Trojan's offense just enough. Book it.

Which is funny, because no one in the LA market gives a s*** about college football

Before the Rams returned, they rode the USC success wave. Then when they tanked after Carroll left they went into hibernation.

I never lived in L.A. but it seems like the people are casual fans who have better things to do than attend a game, but they subtly pay attention to their team, and go all in if their team is in the top 10. Fair weather fans all the way.

I would assume that there are a ton of alumni in L.A. They should have a good following.

Also, the Rose Bowl is awful. Sure it's great to attend one game there and check it off the list, but to have season tickets must suck.

If USC wins out and LSU wins out it will be very interesting.

They both would be in the playoff.

It’s not LSU vs USC. The CFP has simply come down to this.

Big Ten Champ
Big 12 Champ (assuming TCU wins)
SEC champ
PAC 12 champ

I lived in LA area for about 10 yrs…people there don’t care about any sport accept the Lakers…they attend games because it is an event, not because they care about the team.
I went to the USC/AZ game in the colosseum (a dump)when USC still had a really good team and were undefeated. Game wasn’t close to sold out, no energy, nothing.

Media rankings.

They have one less loss than LSU.

I think Notre Dame and Oregon both beat USC in the next two games.

IMO only if Michigan beats Ohio State and wins the B1G. If Michigan doesn't have a resume. They've played 3 away games to this point. Only meaningful win is PSU.

OSU's resume isn't much better.

I don’t really care because its in our hands but it’s funny they’d suddenly jump us now just because Tennessee lost. Why weren’t they ahead of us the last 2 weeks?

The polls reacted to their game v UCLA. It was a good game versus a decent team.

Plus Tenn. losing so bad tarnished us some.

Our big play is beating Ga.

Or maybe they had not played anybody to be ranked that high? State will likely beat them too.

Yea, I guess UT was ranked too highly as well.

We're not getting a #1 ranking even if we beat GA. At most we'll hit #3. I expect #4 given our 2 Losses. The question is how far down does GA drop after a loss, and how high do we go? I think with USC sitting where we are, they just can't get high enough to leapfrog us if we win out. If we lose, it's already decided at GA, OH/MIC, TCU, USC...

Aside to the media wanting to downplay the SEC for the sake of college football "parity", you have the eternal love of the media for USC and the disdain for a coach who left the media darling Notre Dame. They kill two birds with one stone by elevating USC while dropping LSU.

It has been a love fest for a long time. USA Today poll gave USC the National Championship in 2007

Why because they lost to Arkansas and Alabama, 2 other teams LSU beat?

Yes, the more games that a team loses, the less impressive a win over them looks.

I mean the Big 10 has the best chance of getting 2 teams in. If LSU beats UGA then the winner of that game will be #1 with the loser only having 1 loss to the #1 team.

LSU isn't going to jump an undefeated Ohio St/Michigan or an undefeated TCU.

When we beat number 1 UGA and win the SEC it will be a travesty if USC gets in before us
