They lost to a #20 Utah and beat a #16 UCLA.... and? Other than being a 1 loss team... i don't get it. Sure LSU lost the first game of the season to FSU, but both were unranked and it was a 1pt loss. I guess beating bama and an unbeaten ole miss doesn't carry any weight.

Oh well. Just beat the aggies and then worry about UGA. Enjoy your coffee!

They're

USC

and are a perennial media darling particularly when they've won a few games.

Why because they lost to Arkansas and Alabama, 2 other teams LSU beat?

If it hurts LSU by beating Ole Miss it must help LSU that they beat Arkansas and Alabama.

Personally I do not see LSU beating UGA but if they do I still think both USC and TCU have to lose.

I mean the Big 10 has the best chance of getting 2 teams in. If LSU beats UGA then the winner of that game will be #1 with the loser only having 1 loss to the #1 team.

In saying that I want LSU to beat TAMU and everything after is lagniappe anyway..

USC is overrated more often than not simply because of the media’s infatuation with the LA market

their 1 loss is like Bamas loss to us but difference is USC dominated most of the 2nd half. But still last second 2pt conversion for the win.

but whats so hard to understand about a traditional power being 1 loss and being in front of a 2 loss traditional power?

they were always going to jump us. they still have ND and Oregon though. likely to lose 1 of the 2.

If they beat Notre Dame (say what you want they are playing well) and Oregon in the pac 12 title it will get them in assuming LSU loses to UGA.

If USC wins out and LSU wins out it will be very interesting.

In Their Favor

USC is a media darling, the West Coast is a huge market, SEC fatigue trying to get other parts of the country interested, and Caleb Williams Heisman hype.

Not In Their Favor

Not really proven yet, but Notre Dame this week will be a good test, albeit it is a home game for USC. UCLA is overrated, they lost at home to Arizona the week before they played USC.

Ole miss was never that good. They had played weak schedule.

Let it play out.

I think teams should be ranked off of their current resume this late into the season, and not based on projected results. LSU should be currently be ranked ahead of them based on this.

They avoided the #2 and #3 teams in their conference this year, and lost to the #4 team. I'm pulling for Notre Dame and then (probably) Oregon to knock them off and make it easy for the committee.

Also keep in mind, the only "West Coast" representation on the committee is the Colorado AD.

It’s been this way since forever. USC has always been media darlings. They’ve just been awful since the early 2000s so they haven’t gotten the publicity in a while.

I don’t believe in the transitive property, but if you’re trying to find connections; Utah got beat by UF in a down year. Utah beat USC. LSU beat UF. Just saying.
