No coach will bring more passion to the team than coach O. I'm all for him over someone like an overpriced Jimbo, but waiting to see how the season finishes up. Could be a great fit if he proves himself. Would save on the HC price tag and free up money for OC, DC, and get that damn strength and conditioning coach bammer has.

And that's all good. Just understand that O had a good offensive staff at Ole Miss, too. He is much cheaper. He's also a much bigger risk.

How is he gonna prove himself?

Taking one the most talented teams in the last decade and beating a shitty Florida without half their starters, or beating shitty A&M with Hubanek at QB.

Can you honestly see Orgeron winning as NC here let alone Nick Saban?

He may or may not be here long term. Your plan requires that he is and that O hires a great OC. If you assume uncertainty (which is reality) then O looks like a risky hire.

My guess is that the negativity is coming from people that don't go to games and are still butt hurt over losing Les Miles and his fantastic interviews. Maybe they hate winning big against inferior teams. Who knows but frick those people. We have lost to exactly one opponent since O has taken over. That team just so happens to be the unanimous choice as the number one team in the country. It really is unbelievable how warped some of these posters are.

Nowhere in here are you giving a reason as to why he's the best choice.

The negativity relates only to him as a HC candidate. He doesn't have the skill set to be a successful HC. That's not an insult.

says the guy that loved Les Miles

It looked a lot better vs Arkie last week than it has the last two years under Miles......er

Yes they sure did, but I doubt the criteria for the next coach is his ability to put together a team capable of beating Arkansas

It was the cool thing to support him for a while, then people noticed a lot of people thought it was the cool thing, so then they changed the cool thing to be against Coach O.

Giving your own piss poor post an up vote isn't a cool thing.

I think the polarization on O is due to how people view his time as HC at Ole Miss.

For the Pro-Orgeron crowd, the details of his career at OM are irrelevant. They believe O has learned from his failures, gotten his life in order, and improved as a coach.

People that do not want O view his record as HC at Ole Miss as disqualifying.

I think both sides have good points. I just do not see any middle ground.

because that's the only time he has built a team, hired coaches and recruited his own players.

All this interim stuff he had little to do with as far as building a team.

You have a bunch of kids that think they know it all, and think we must have a certain name as coach...doesn't matter that the one most want is massively underachieving in his current position...he is a big name.

He will do a great job and for the cost of about half of fisher. Fisher will come with a 5 million dollar buy out and around 6 million a year if not more . For that he better be saban and he's not even close to saban. No coach is worth 6 million a year unless it's urban or nick. Just my opinion though, so that counts for nothing

You pay to play with the big boys. Not pinch pennies to be penny wise but pound foolish. Fiscally responsibility is fine. But market values are set. Jimbo has NC ring. What does O have? Nothing but 28 losses and 0 points and 125 yards in an Epic fail on offense for his only real test this year.

Market value dictates North of $6M. Pay the price to be able to compete for championships and have a realistic shot at beating Bama. Not settle on a guy with a horrible track record as a FULL TIME HC and not a rah rah interim HC.

O better be a real HC vs. UF. Injuries or not their Defense has a pulse. We have not fared well vs teams whose Defense can play at a high level.
