Well we pretty much play all those teams we beat again this year. Did they get better and we didn't? I think we beat Auburn again this year. Johnson won't be there to run all over our defense this year. I don't think Jimbo fixes AM's super soft defense in one off season and I think we kick Floridas arse again as well.
Yeah well, everyone we play outside of Rice and SLU has a better head coach than us

Ok I agree with you there.

I've seen you post on here, I'll take that as a compliment coming from your kind.

It's the tough schedule. People (media) look at that and say: "Wow, they could lose up to X number of games." Why put that team high on your list to make your predictions look bad. On the other hand, Miami has a much easier schedule, so they're a safe prediction.
Posted on 8/28/18 at 6:42 am to TigersOfGeauxld
Even if this team is good, this year's schedule is more brutal than usual. The SEC West is always tough then you throw in Miami and Georgia on top of that.

I think he said except rb. Traore won't be starting.
Giles is on the watch list for best wr in the nation, I believe he had 80 catches or something close to that two years ago.
Meanwhile O says Jefferson was the best wr during camp.

In all seriousness, this all Tiger fans need.

and they have ALL SUITED UP???
This will be a mediocre year....
Dave Aranda (whom NUMBNUT ALLEVA SHOULD'VE GONE AFTER AND MADE HEAD COACH)and his defense, will be SINGLE HANDEDLY RESPONSIBLE for 80% of LSU's Wins
*****FOR THE RECORD, I HOPE I AM COMPLETELY WRONG!!!!!!!
But combined with the schedule, and too many new faces, makes this statement real....

I don't see the OL being better than last year. If Ingram was playing guard and Brumfield played center, Maybe. Other than that I agree with everything else.
Team talent is improved but a very difficult schedule is why the record will dip. 9 wins would be a successful season

Half these people never played the game so they think just because we have a few 4*s at RB and not a few 5*s we'll suck at RB. Same for every other position.
They see one bad camp practice or spring scrimmage and the seasons over as if these guys can't, watch film, work on technique, practice against a strong fast defense and progress. Even with Fulton back, Joseph will likely play a lot and people were freaking out about how we lost Surtain when Joseph might be a better CB.
Some people prefer to be pessimistic instead of optimistic but neither are more right than the other bc even if you have most of your players coming back, you could have a completely different team the next year if those players don't put in the work in the preseason or know they have to actually put time in to improve the next year. It doesn't just carry over simply bc you had a great year the year before.
I'm not bothered by being wrong when I hold out hope for my Tigers. If I'm wrong then I want to at least see some good football out of the offense, defense and special teams. I realize that kids make mistakes and can lose games. I also realize that coaches need time to build the team he actually wants to see on the field.

Besides lsu, bama didn't beat anyone worth a shite last year in the regular season. Who you think had the best win? It didn't stop bama.
That’s a good argument for why Alabama shouldn’t have made the playoffs but comparing their schedule to LSU omits the fact the won 11 not 9

quote:yep. Question marks abound. And...
I don't get how people can't see this LSU team is very, very good.
Its very simple. Aside from the defense, there are a whole lot of question marks:
1) Offensive line is questionable at best
2) Wrs, while talented, are young and unproven
3) QB, while talented, is also still unproven
4) Huge question mark at RB
5) OC, while he had a good stint as the interim OC 2 years ago, we still have no idea how good he will be running his own offense.
6) and last but not least, the biggest liability of all is the head coach. Orgeron is, was and always be our biggest weakness when it comes game preparation and in game coaching. Combine this with a tough schedule, and im sure you can see now why some people might not be sold on this team being very, very good.
7) Other new coaches, on the most question mark riddled side of the ball: Sullivan & Cregg.
I'm one of those that 'hope' some of those questions get answered positively, others I 'expect' them to, and a few I 'expect and predict' them to.
Thing is, a couple of those question marks do not get fullfilled, then the whole thing suffers. Especially #1 and #2 (WRs don't perform, the QB always looks bad, always).

Agreed, but point was you play who they schedule you. They act like wins don't count because you didn't play top teams. Alabama proved that wrong.

The major step back at RB is concerning. Forget how good Guice was, think about all of the things that D. Williams did out of the backfield last year and ask yourself who is going to do that this year.

The OL is going to be the weak link. It was the first thing out of O’s mouth yesterday when asked about his concerns.

Why? Seriously.
Charles played LT most of the year last year, he should improve in year 2, possibly to being a very good LT. You have Brumfield at lG. That left side of line WILL be improved based upon experience. Ingram hurt but the coaches have raved about Lewis at RG, saying he may be the best linemen of them all. Magee played RT many times last year, and played practically the entire Auburn game and did well. It is his time to shine. Cush is the only question, but interestingly, you have heard nothing but positives about him through camp.
Plus, they got an upgrade at ol coach. I think they most certainly can be better than last year.
