Chill out with that

Our defense and spt blew them off the field.

That was an arse whipping and a half

yes, Mathieu and our defense bailed us out, and they certainly were a thing to behold. But this is also a great example of having blinders on.

Mathieu saved us in that game with his two long punt returns, one for a TD and another setting up a TD. Our offense was putrid the first half. I mean, as bad as it gets.

We managed a little better in the second half, but only had 237 yards total for the game.

We had 42 points, but one TD was a punt return, one was a 17-yard short field up by another punt return, one was a pick-six, one was a very short field off a UGA fumble.

Les should know he can't rely on that kind of defensive and special teams performance every game, and that we needed some kind of legitimate offense against the top teams on our schedule.

But no, we rolled right into 1-9-2012 with no change of offensive gameplan at all. And the result was an utter abomination.

I have blinders on about games that happened a decade ago?

No. I just appreciate that teams and those games for what they were.

I'm not arguing we had a good offense. I'm arguing there is still fun to be had watching those games because of the defense.

I'm not defending anyone or anything about that season. I'm simply stating that the defense makes those games fun to watch. If you disagree, fine. But don't try to make my argument something it isn't.

JJ missed so many wide open receivers. The offense may have been archaic, but we were so physically imposing, all he had to do is play OK, but he couldn't manage OK.

If not for the defense, he would have a losing record as a starter.

JJ#9 was a tough dude though. Some of the hits he took were outrageous……and he got up! As a QB coupled with the offense we ran, sure he was not good.

No it wasn't. You don't win 42-10 and get "outplayed."

Yep, and I felt the same way with Danny Etling and Marcus Randall and Herb Tyler.

It’s funny to me how much shite people will give JJ, and think Lee was just so much better than JJ. Truth be told, Lee sucked, JJ had better potential as a QB, and we had a true dumbass coaching the team.

JFC get over the JJ hate.

Seriously. Any decent QB was going to be hampered with that offense.

I mean let it go already. Its ancient history at this point and crying about isn't going to change anything.

That was easily the best throw Jefferson ever made at LSU

Sorry our off season, bored, and meaningless conversation doesn't meet your approval.

Good luck with your bleeding vajajay.

I like running the ball, that's what I grew up watching from LSU.

It is just a topic of conversation. No one is holding grudges. It's just something I recently recognized.

During one of the “Coaches Show” when bama was playing clemson…they asked LM “you've played Alabama/Saban more than anyone here, what was your strategy?” His response, “we would identify their best strength and attack it”.

Let that sink in

Then don't Jefferson won more game than he loss. Jefferson was not given proper coaching while at LSU. Jefferson constantly today this day and you are proof of this gets shitted on by queers like yourself for no reason at all and despite that still encouraged his siblings to stay home and play at LSU. Jefferson was a decent QB all things considered. You know I noticed from people like you? Y'all never bring up this talking point with Lee and he looked a lot worse compared to Jefferson.

did you not watch the game???

You do realize you can't just look at the scoreboard and determine which team outplayed the other??

Our defense dominated but theirs did too, for the most part - holding us to 237 total yards. Our offense was horrific. UGA outgained us.

Punt returns and turnovers were the difference.

Now yes, those are part of the game, but I don't typically say a team that gets outgained and has to rely on two incredible punt return, a pick-6, and a fumble recovery deep in the opponent's red zone has "outplayed" the other team.

Now I know you'll come back at me, so let me offer this hypothetical.

Team A drives down the field 5 times but fumbles each time on the opponent's 1-yard line. Team B's defense scoop up the fumbles and runs 99 yards for a defensive touchdown each time.

Five other drives, Team A drives down and misses a FG. Team B's offense takes over and gains zero yards.

So the game ends with Team B winning 35-0. Team A has 600 yards of offense, Team B has zero.

Who outplayed who?
