I can't rewatch games with Jordan Jefferson.
I simply can't stomach watching a team that was absolutely loaded look so inept.

It's actually painful, and a little embarrassing.

I would rather have had Russell Shepard at QB. He could not have been any worse.

I have no problem rewatching some of those games. Like the SEC championship against Georgia or the Arkansas game. Tyrann Mathieu is possibly the most fun player to watch on defense I've ever seen.

Jordan Jefferson fumbled so Justin could fly

First, he graduated nearly 10 years ago...let it go. There have been worse LSU QBs.

Second, it's hard for me to blame ANY LSU QB from 2009 - 2016 (perhaps a few years longer) for poor play as the general philosophy on offense was to avoid the middle of the field in the passing game at all costs and handcuff every QB with the most risk averse offense possible.

Jefferson wasn't great, but it wasn't all his fault - he was severely hampered by Les Miles' archaic offensive schemes.

Not saying Jefferson would've flourished in a Brady-type offense, but Les handcuffed a lot of our offensive talent.

This is where you’re wrong. Could have had Joe B and a LM offense still would have struggled. It’s amazing what a little innovation would have done.

Don’t blame the players…as LM always did and a lot of Les apologist did…it was 1000% coaching. LM never took accountability about the lack of offensive production…it was always “execution”

Yes true but there wasn’t worse QBs with so much talent around them, where every expert, fan, and players said if LSU had a QB (JJ) would be unstoppable than when he was the QB of a top 5 team in the country.

This x 1000

I think a creative offensive scheme would have been very interesting. It's sad to look back at some of the offenses Les had with the talent we had.

One of my top 5 favorite memories watching him was the Punt Return for a TD. But not bc of the TD; when the Arky punter cheap shotted him after he scored, the punter got his clock cleaned by one of our ST guys. fricking loved that team

The 2011 Arkansas game was awesome. I think I remember him playing one of his best games against them after we started slowly due to that fluke fumble TD by (I think) Ford.

LSU did not get it’s first 1st down until the third quarter vs UGA.

Any other coach in the country would have benched Jefferson here but not Les. Jefferson did the exact same thing for his very next game…….21-0.

correct.

A prime example is 2018, where we had Burrow, Brossette, Helaire, Justin Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, Dillon, Sullivan, and most (if not all) of our OL. In other words, the talent from our 2019 offense was all there in 2018, but under Ensminger's offense.

And the results were very pedestrian.

Coaching and scheme makes a HUGE difference.

And LSU beat Georgia like a rented mule.

If you don't have a good time watching the defensive performers on the field during that era, I don't know what to tell you.

Worst to me is still the sec championship game before 21-0

Wasn’t he like 4-23 with 2 INTs

I will say in Jordan’s defense his pass plays were almost always with 2 WR routes and one was always a go

We never schemed up anyone.

We just out-talented teams for a decade with Les

My fondest memory is when he took it distance of the field from around goal line I think against Tennessee.

Go watch the first half. It will be enough to beat your head against the wall.

Jefferson stats in the SEC championship:
5-13, 30 yards passing. 6 carries for -5 yards rushing.

Bama ready!!!!

Thanks Les

For the game:
First downs: UGA= 19 LSU= 13

LSU was outplayed but won the turnover margin.
