Every sports team ever has done something Like this. Stop acting like this is an Orgeron thing and some sort of weakness.

You can always tell which keyboard warriors have never been in a locker room. Players step in and give speeches all of the time. Sometimes it just has a way of connecting with the other players more effectively than from an older coach/mentor.

Some are referencing the dramatic team change while you are generalizing speaches given at any point in time.

As soon as I saw the topic I knew someone would come in here saying this. Thanks for being that person.

Go google the shite - coaches have ex-navy seals, former coaches, notable alumni, celebrities, motivational speakers, etc. come in to speak before big games all the time.

This is not a new phenomenon. ESPN eats this crap up and talks about it during the game.

People make entire careers out of doing stuff like this.

Our "turning point" for the team is Duke Riley chewing the team out? What does Coach O even do? Is he that soft that he can't motivate his own team?

Why are we paying Coach O so much money, if he needs other people to motivate the team? Clearly, he can't call plays. He doesn't know defense. He's an average defensive line coach.

So what is his value add here at LSU exactly?

Can't we just hire a random person from the Rant to be "Head Coach" for 100K a year? We would see absolutely no dropoff. My vote is for Owlfan as he's my favorite poster.

Wrong.

If you had played past peewee ball you might understand the value of having someone like Riley speak his mind.

And then again, you probably wouldn't understand.

What we learned was O was not the leader on this team last year then. He just took credit for it, right?

Good for Riley. If it works it works.

And the rest of the board is being ridiculous. This literally has happened every year since the beginning of time.

Saban brings back former players to practice with the team and has a network of shadow coaches. So what? Good coaches are going to use whatever angle possible to give their team the edge.

Riley got Coach O hired in the first place, so he came back to clean up his mess.

How quickly you guys forget that we lost to TROY. frickING TROY.

AT HOME

Coach O is a terrible fricking coach and he was exposed. He does nothing to help us win games. His call to kick a field goal instead of going for it on fourth and a half yard shows how stupid he really is. He got lucky. If we don't make that long field goal - you are all calling for his head. It was not the high percentage play.

Give me a break. You don't go from losing to Troy - to all of the sudden beating a top 10 team because someone former player "lit into your team". There is a fundamental difference between what we're doing schematically now versus at the start of the season.

AKA - Coach O has given full reigns to Aranda and Canada because he's completely fricking clueless as to how to coach a football team. Now he has to bring in former players to motivate the team because they don't understand his RAW RAW incoherent ramblings?

Just give me the head coaching job, guarantee I can do a better job for a lot less money.
