Don’t compare him to Pete Carroll. Please just don’t.

Carroll won a college football championship and a Super Bowl.

Yep when I think Super Bowl the first thing that pops into mind is Ed Orgeron.

Pete Carrol had been a somewhat successful NFL head coach and elite coordinator, making him a head coach in college was a risk but not near the same thing as O

To be fair you have to consider his interem stint at USC when Kiffin went completely off the rails. There were many USC people that wanted him to be the HC along with the players. Kiffin is doing great now and seems to be more mature but his last year was a shite show starting with the Sun Bowl fiasco the year before. O may fail but you can’t ignore the temp job he did at USC.

Team; W/L; Team's 2013 record
Ariz; W; 8-5
ND ; L; 0-4 (9 vacated wins)
Utah; W; 5-7
OrSt; W; 7-6
Cal ; W; 1-11
Stan; W; 11-3
Colo; W; 4-8
UCLA; L; 10-3

Three wins were against teams with a winning record, and three were against teams with a losing record.

I am talking about, when they are dumping on O, it's mainly about the Ole Miss era.9-4 doesn't help that narrative, that he is the worst coach ever.

One of my best hires was a shop hand who the previous manager didn't want to bring back under any circumstance. I hired him on and he became a top level supervisor and one of the most respected employees in the entire company. People do their best when they are pushed to do so. I'm not going to say that Ed should have been hired, but he is here now and these sort of things work out as many times as they don't work out. We'll know by the end of this season.

So Nutt was better with O's players than O was. That's some grade A pumping right there.

Logically speaking, it was actually worst for Pete Carroll. When I say that no one wanted him, I mean,it was very bad. They showed a picture of the Stadium, before the game started, and a couple had a whole section to themselves. And my point was that he got fired, regardless of what he had accomplished ,that part is irrelevant.

I think O would make a great shop hand

Everyone talks about the 9-4 record....? it is a deceptive record given who he won against, the level of talent here (regardless of what some want people to think), and the coaches around him. And he won less than the average over the last 11 years.

It was a mediocre season at best.

Everyone should consider the
circumstances, of why a coach was fired. Give the coach adequate time to prove his worth. But I know that some of you have strong, legitimate reasons why you don't like O as LSU Head Coach. And I understand that, but this book is not finished yet. I am still encouraged, We coming

Go to YouTube and watch, 30 for 30 Pete Carroll. Maybe you are thinking about someone else.

so getting fired from two NFL HC jobs for having a better than .500 record and going BACKWARDS to college is = to O getting fired at a lesser school because he failed their expectations?

Carroll - Fired from a Tier 1 job, so he goes back to a Tier 2 job

O - Fried from a Tier 4 job, so he goes up to a Tier 2 job.

Lets not even get into the part about carroll being a great DC.

That fact that you are still trying to make this argument work is laughable

I dont think anyone, even the most ardent of O skeptics, would say his book at LSU is finished. He's one season in. Some are more or less encouraged than others, but I think everyone, no matter where you come down, agrees that this is a do or die season for him. He could win over a lot of fans on the fence or lose all of them permanently depending on how this season goes.
