You left out the part where he did pretty well at New England but ok, whatever you want to say to prove your point.

This actually is a fresh take on CEO, and a good one IMO

There are a lot of similarities between the hiring of the two

is this sarcasm?

1. It's not a fresh take at all, the Oites have been using Pete and Bill B as examples of "learning from your failures" since the hire.
2. It's not a good comparison at all because their failures were not nearly as terrible as O's and even throwing those out, the 2 were well respected and accomplished coordinators. Have you ever heard anyone compliment O for his defensive mind? Has O in his many, many years in coaching ever been put in charge of an entire defense?

Being fired is where the similarities end between O and the above coaches.

Even a man that's being counted out beforehand, can succeed. I didn't say will, but possibly can. For, I am not Miss Cleo.

I havent posted this in a while, but its pertinent to this discussion.

There have been 100+ HC's to win an NC since we started tracking stuff like that (1890?). Only 1 of those coaches (Bill McCartney) started off their first 3 years with a worse record than O did.

O - 10-25
Mccartney - 7-25-1

This 'project' is a fairy tale

So Nutt was better with O's players than O was. That's some grade A pumping right there.

Surely you didn't mean to say that. How good was Booty, Rohan, and Nall their freshman and sophomore years. Jimbo and Saban lost to UAB remember. That is with three HS All American quarterbacks and and a future Biletnikoff winner on the team.

If you keep comparing him to Pete then I expect Pete results.

I am comparing circumstances, if he fails then off with his head. I will hold it , while you cut it off.

With the main one being that they didn't want either one. It is a fact, except it. Oh yeah I know, today, fake news is the truth. And the truth is really fake news.

Some are more or less encouraged than others, but I think everyone, no matter where you come down, agrees that this is a do or die season for him. He could win over a lot of fans on the fence or lose all of them permanently depending on how this season goes.

Wow! What was it you said to me in another thread? Oh yeah, "nothing gets past you!"
