I am a little disappointed that LSU is not testing all returning athletes.

It seems to me it would give you the best shot to minimize any transfer within the team.

Hard to test them when they all share the same heartbeat

According to the articles I have read, they will test based upon symptoms. The concern I have is all of the positive tests I have heard about on the news appear to be asymptomatic.
LSU has installed scanners to check everyone's temperature as they pass through doors, but that requires symptoms.

Ehhh. Wouldn’t be the worst thing if it swept through the team in June. Not an athlete yet has been affected by this thing and suffered any more than minor cold-like symptoms.

Get it all out of the way now and don’t have to worry about Myles Brennan getting it the week before Bama

Corona never was a thing-at least not anymore than any other damned virus out there. When the TRUE number of cases (significantly more) AND deaths (significantly
less) become known, the mortality rate will be proven to be no worse than any other sickness out there, which we didn't close the whole economy down for by the way.

We had 40k deaths by car last year. We could eliminate 99.999999% of those fatalities if we strictly enforced a 5 mph speed limit. Who is in favor of that?

Finally a common sense post, players are 18-22, not 70-90 years old. It’s a college not a nursing home, huge difference.

Players will undergo a typical medical examination once they report to campus. They’ll also receive COVID-19 antibody tests designed to reveal if someone has recovered from the virus, though experts don’t know the true effectiveness of the tests.

LSU will not administer PCR tests, which diagnose the virus, unless someone exhibits symptoms. In that case, Mullenix said, the person must recover in isolation. They can return to workouts once three days pass without a fever or medication.

My company had zero COVID-19 infections out of about 800 employees spread throughout the lower 48. In the last week we have had four, seemingly from the same cluster in Houston. All symptomatic and all middle to upper middle age. No serious problems in any of the cases yet.

One guy would be 996/1000’s alive and 4/1000’s dead. How would you like to be that poor motherfricker?

I agree. Asymptomatic cases have the potential to spread covid to coaches who may have underlying conditions.
