I didn't read the whole thread, but it refers to Brady. Which is hilarious...and 100% true.

I should have clarified ... current LSU head coach.

A member of the staff of the university having an "affair" with a student

They should be fired!

Don't care what their record is...

Did you know that in most universities, professors could have 'affairs' with students? Don't know how it is at LSU, but it's that way at the institution of higher learning where I work. IMO, if it's ok for faculty, it's ok for coaches...unless we're talking about GC here.

i would hope that there is some sort of 'morals' clause in the contract of most college football coaches.

i'd say it is a sad reflection of the state of our society if this happened and the coach did not face some sort of sanction for it - anywhere from a reprimand up to termination for tarnishing the reputation of the university.

with that said, i think it is interesting to the discussion to note the differences in journalism and 'shadow journalism' in today's society as opposed to what it was in the past. many of JFKs affairs were well known in the media, yet they went unreported for the most part. today, the mainstream media loves tabloidesq sensationalism...and that doesn't even begin to get into what is posted on the internet by indivduals.

ok, a lot of blah blah after answering the initial question...but you asked

I've heard this same thing about blockhead months ago, and the answer is A. And everyone keeps saying "Aw, he's such a nice guy, and family man". Hopefully it would be cause for firing, and and save LSU a shitload of money, and LSU football fans a shitload of frustration. Guess who?

This is about to get whacked probably.

Although a certain coach has been seen at a Lake Chuck casino friendly with some ladies.

I would pray that your not talking about our future OC Billy Gonzales. Word is the girls seem to be drawn to him.

Similar things were said about a certain head coach back in '07 when Mama came calling. Maybe it was and is true, maybe it's a rumor started when people want to either console themselves over said coach possibly leaving OR find a reason for said coach to leave. Personally, I think a person's sex life is none of my business, and I don't want an employer sticking their nose into it UNLESS there's a conflict of interest or immediate threat to the university. I don't think a coach screwing a golden girl is either. I think it's way more shady when a professor screws a student, because there's a huge conflict of interest there, but at most universities, it's NOT against the rules for faculty and adult (i.e., over 18) students to have 'relationships'. And if it's well known that others did the same (say, Brady) and weren't reprimanded, especially when other coaches had much worse records...and especially when it would be really obvious that the 'affair' is an excuse to fire the coach...then the uni is opening itself up for lawsuits and bad publicity. Does LSU really want to replace Tennessee as the NCAA's dumbass program of the week?

was ever found to be having an affair with, for discussion's sake, an LSU Golden Girl?

Depends on whether the coach in question is in a position of authority over said Golden Girl.

If so, A is the correct answer. Not just for the appropriateness, but because of the potential legal liability.

If not, it's still probably inappropriate but maybe not a firing offense. If we're talking the head coach of the tennis team, for example.
