Isn’t there a kid at Tulane that played Saturday who went through multiple NFL camps? I could have sworn this was discussed on the broadcast, but Google has memory holed it.

Chambliss withdrew from the draft and had nothing to do with the NFL so they have no grounds to bypass the courts TRO/injunction.

Which is also the reason Hutson is inelgibke today. His particular case got a stay, meaning the entire lot of players in his case are ineligible.
The players we want are more eligible than he is. In fact the ND kid is still eligible. The intentional omissions tell the tale in all of this. We are being targeted.

This conference is a joke.
Pavia and Chambliss BOTH defy NCAA and SEC rulings to sue and return. Texas has a former NFL camper on their active roster. Even Tulane apparently has a dude who has camped with multiple NFL teams.
But they are going to banish LSU for talking about it?

I think the lSU with other SEC University presidents and State ADs ought to ban together and tell the SEC to remove Chambliss as it is not in line by rule with the principles everyone agreed to regardless of what a judge stated. 1/2 coaching season suspension and 1/2 loss of revenue

The Mannings probably are influencing the situation with Texas.
They do not want anything to stain or jeopardize this season for Arch and also Archie is probably playing the situation on both ends. On one side the anti LSU slant of the issue because of Ole Miss, so he does not want Texas with his grandson playing doing the opposite, even though Chambliss is NCAA ineligible but continuing to play for some odd reason although he should also be looked at as an ineligible NCAA player by the CFP and SEC.

They won’t, but if this were really about principles and the spirit of the bylaws (it’s certainly not about the text of the bylaws) they might consider that.
It’s just ironic that they were “powerless” to the courts for Chambliss, NIL, etc. but this issue… one that they created… is the hill they want to die on? While a literal NFL camper played for one of the conference’s preseason favorites to win the championship. And they said nothing

Oh they absolutely spoke to sark and Texas on account of the suit with us.
We were 100% going to use that.
It still doesn’t fix it but makes the double standard less egregious

Who knows also Ohio State and the B1G may have threatened Texas with a “you may be in breach of contract” letter to hedge against a loss so they could later lobby that Texas had an ineligible player.

I understand and somewhat agree with the emotion of this.
Legally, however, LSU did the right thing. It puts them in a much stronger position to make a response to the fed suit from a position of following SEC rules. It helps them say that the suit is frivolous and actually misleading.
Have to play the long game demonstrating that we always intended to comply, despite the narrative lies in the media driving so much of this whole thing.
JMHO.
