Wait until April 1. Be patient.

Yep, there are things that are irreversible now, just waiting on the good stuff to come.

He's being paid well.
This is an example of the general ignorance of many LSU fans in the discussion. He's getting paid roughly the same as McMahon. Sure, it's not a bad salary. But comparatively, it's as much as one of the lowest paid HCs in the SEC (MM is one of the lowest because he's done NOTHING to warrant or leverage a higher salary). If LSU paid even mid-tier SEC money it would be a significant raise for Wade. Yet, in everyone of these discussions you have some fan talk about how "great" a basketball school NC State is and how much it cares about basketball. Does a great basketball school only reach the NCAA Tournament 3x in 10 years (prior to Wade)? LSU, the purported awful basketball school, did that in just 4 years. Does a great basketball school pay its HC a salary equal to the lowest paid coaches in the SEC?

He’s not tha good of a coach to build a powerhouse program. During his tenure, lsu probably had top 10, and he couldn’t get past the second round.

Went to the sweet 16 year 2 despite Benford doing everything he could to frick it up. People forget how bad those games were handled. The goal is to reach the tourney every year which he did after year one. You do that and over time the runs will come.

My money is on the grapefruit.

All those wins and runs and neither Sampson nor Pearl ever won it. They must suck according to some here.

If he listened to them did he provide any details?

I'm not one of the Will Wade ride or dies, but I somewhat get it. He provided LSU with some of it's best teams in a while and had the fan base excited. Then he was let go and we immediately fell off a cliff.
By this logic, we should bring back John Brady. Hell, at least he got us to the final four!

He was only allowed to coach in one NCAA Tournament at LSU...where he lost to the No. 1 seed in the second round. If not being able to beat a No. 1 seed in a one-game setting is the bar for success, then I'm afraid LSU won't be able to find any coach this cycle who can unequivocally beat No. 1 seeds. Of course, it would just be nice at this point to be able to play No. 1 seeds as opposed to confirming in January LSU shouldn't even be on the same court with them

He’s retired and so is Dale Brown if that was your next “logical” choice

It’s locked on Wolfpack.

also don't know why he'd come back. Raleigh is an awesome place to live. NC State is more committed to men's basketball than LSU. He's being paid well.
I agree. Raleigh is a beautiful part of the country and basketball is king there, but NC State, Duke and N. Carolina are within 15 minutes of each other.
NC State is the third best basketball school in that small area and that will never change. Maybe he doesn’t like being 3rd best in a 15 mile radius.

This means that the people who have been advocating for Schertz would also be bitching about him.

You get a lot of double standards from these idiots

Well, as expected, all of the top mid-major candidates are landing major conf. jobs. Hodgson to Providence. Calhoun to Cincinnati. josh schertz staying at SLU. So it looks more and more like it's either Wade or another year of basketball falling in the woods without making a sound.
Of course, Mick Cronin has sounded for months like he's begging UCLA to fire him? Would he go to LSU where the travel would be less arduous? Of course, he's become an absolute nutjob

I caught a lot of shite for saying this would happen.

Yep. Also means that there are a lot of mid-major jobs open. I know a guy that has proven to be a very successful mid-major coach. Maybe schools could even get him with a little discount if he negotiates a lump sum or reduced buyout (not subject to an offset)...
