His point was how close this team seems to be as compared to the 2023 team, but that that wasn't the case last year. I don't remember hearing much on this.
Were there players that were causing issues with team chemistry specifically? Whether that be amount of playing time, etc.?

I think I've read it on here more than a few times that last years team had internal/chemistry/trust/manly bonding issues.

Maybe. Moffet or Cam came to mind too as a possibility.

The past is the past. Could give a shite less at this point about last year and what went wrong. All that matters now is this year, Omaha, and winning another natty.

It just seemed like a bad number of strong personality types IMO that led to 3 or 4 separate friend groups on the team. It seemed like Milazzo had a crew, Kling had a crew, and 1 or 2 other players grouped up with people similar to them and didn’t seem to have much to do with the others. That’s completely an outside observation but I feel like it was more obvious than any baseball team I’ve seen from the outside looking in

I have nothing to back this up personally but I have read & heard in multiple places that some guys like Neal, Kling, Ruddell, Johnson, & Dutton were not pleased last year due to lack of playing time.

Young kids frustrated with lack of playing time compiled with graduating or losing the vast majority of your leaders and upper classman to the draft the offseason prior didn't help that matter.

Did they all become friends again in the late season surge?

I'm glad Neal is gone. He had the body language of a toddler.
Alabama and that loser squad fits him perfectly.

At one point we had that kid starting in right field, just to placate he and his parents. Not a fan of his, glad he is gone

If you listen to enough podcasts that interview players (i.e. Mik'd up), that is easy to pick up. They don't talk shite about last year's team. They just phrase it in a way like, "This team is so close, it's more like the 2023 team was" or "This year we decided that we were going to all be part of something special, and we are all best friends". I'm paraphrasing, but the underlying message is there.

When you are winning and things are going well, team chemistry is great. When you are losing, it isn't.

That not just isolated to LSU. And it's not just isolated to last season. I think some try to portray a lack of team chemistry as a "cause" for losing...when really it's more often than not a symptom.

playing time.

If anything they got more than enough opportunities compared to the results they were putting on the field.

I can tell you from personal experience that most of the kids seem to like each other on this years team (joking and laughing with each other before games etc) and that is a really good sign and nice to be around.

It’s less about dissent last year and more about the closeness of this year’s squad.

It’s really incredible how tight they are and how much love they show each other.

Team over Me. That’s the motto this year and you see it very explicitly.

Of all the sports to try and manage egos and clicks, baseball has to be the hardest. Especially at a big-time program. Especially in the era of open transfer rules and NIL carrots being dangled in front of players.

Hell, I coached rec baseball for 15 years and there was drama most years once they got to 9 or older. Usually coming from the parents but not always.
