Zero. Even if he makes a move with personnel or strategy that doesnt pan out. This isn't football or basketball.
He will send his starting pitchers out there and hope they pitch well. He will send his starting lineup out there and hope they produce runs.
He's a seasoned coach and his main work is done before and during the regular season, as he looks to find the right personnel to make the team click. At this point, its really up to the players. He had the team clicking last year and just ran into a better team with Stony Brook. Hes got his team clicking again late in the season and that's about all he can do at this point. If LSU, loses to Miss St you cant blame Paul or if they sweep them you cant give him all the credit. Its on the players this weekend to perform better than Miss State's.

My only argument is that Lsu has #1 attendance forever, top tier classes, great facilities, and is considered a baseball elite....and has 1 CWs win to show in 7 years.

But the gap is much smaller than it used to be. Plus other schools have better facilities and at least equal classes.

Sucks to lose a game, but I'd be very happy with CPM as long as LSU won the other 2 SR games

Wouldn't change.... I view his teams as ones that can't get it done when the stakes are highest. Don't bring up 09 that was his second year and almost a decade ago.

I'm guessing it wouldn't change for you unless (or even if) LSU won it all this year.

2009 was his third year, FWIW.

First of all, 09 was his third year.

Secondly, you basically just said "don't bring up this fact, because it doesn't support my argument."

That's how a bitch argues.

Not one player enrolles at LSU without being hand picked by Paulie. If they don't perform it is all his fault that they are on this team. They don't see the field without his inserting them in the lineup. It's all on the million dollar guy at the park not the partial scholly guys. Just as true if they win. But all around stuuuuuuuupid statement. It starts and stops with the head coach.

to be honest, I just don't know how I would take it. I think the man is a damn good baseball coach and has prepared this team as much as possible to perform at their best level this year. his resume' is as good as anyone coaching in college today.

in all likelihood if we lose this series it will be due to "the breaks"; shitty call or two by the umps, a pitcher breaking down at a bad time, etc, etc.

if our players frick up (like they did against Tejas Southern) and lose, I know one thing; I WILL NOT BLAME CPM. the players are the ones in between the lines and they make (or don't) the plays.

Winning cures all so if he loses it would most certainly be another hit to his credit as a dominant LSU head coach. He needs some post season wins for sure but overall I don't think it hurts him very much. It's baseball you win some and you lose some. He's still a great head coach.

It would reinforce the whole great regular season coach but just can't get it done in the post season for whatever reason. 2 trips to the CWS after 6 straight national seeds is just not good enough

Losing to Mississippi State with them only 1 good Pitcher, would truly suck!!!

Combine that with his CWS record of 1-4 in LSU's last 2 trips there

The fact that you're sitting here and dismissively talking about two recent trips to Omaha because they just weren't good enough shows the level of success CPM has had at LSU.

Would not change my view of him. He produces championship teams.....period. Our boys are SEC co-champs, they won the SEC Tournament and their Regional. IMO everything after this is gravy. Furthermore, everyone on this team including CPM is a champion.

Having said that......Geaux Tigahs!
