The absolute vast majority wanted Herman, he sucked too so no reason to trust the Rant for advice on hiring a HC

How would you know if he was?

Maybe he's referring to people he knows in real life? Crazy concept right

People were unable to recognize that the immediate offensive output after Miles was fired was a result of the competition and not coaching.

Missouri, Ole Miss, and USM were bad teams (somehow OM was ranked at the time we played them).

We then scored a combined 10 points against Bama and Florida at home, but people still convinced themselves the offense was better.

He was then given the job after beating an average aTm team.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I remember being somewhat happy after we lost to Florida in 2016 because I thought it meant that at least Coach O would not get the job. Then, I remember him being announced as the coach the next day

First, never be happy when the Tigers lose, if you love da tigahs. Second, he was hired a whole week later, after they beat the Aggies.

Many of us wanted a big time hire then. Hiring O was very underwhelming. I do remember hoping for the best anyway and thinking what a great story it would be if the local coach won it all. 2019 was a dream season. Too bad it was a one time thing and we didn't have a program that could "reload".

did he?

Herman was OC at Ohio State and won the NC with a third-string QB.

He was 22-4 as head coach at Houston.

At Texas, he was 32-18 overall (22-13 in conference). Clearly not the leap up that UT was looking for, but it wasn't bad at all.

And just because a coach doesn't succeed at one school, doesn't mean he can't do well at another.

I think Herman would've excelled here.

He was not, just more people were mad at Alleva's incompetence at losing Herman that mad at O for getting the job.

I don't recall it being a popular hire. I do remember him being popular in 2019.

At that point anyone who had a philosophy outside of 3 yards and a cloud of dust was attractive.

He wasn’t. There’s people out there who will blindly support whoever the hc hire is. It could be Daffy Duck.

A vocal minority of mostly sidewalk fans were the only people happy about his hire.

Do realize how stupid you sound?

Half you tards melted over Tom Herman

Fact is none of you myself included knows who the best hire is

As Dan Mullen said yesterday ... it’s week to week I. This league in regards to coaches

Meh. Herman is still a better coach than O, and I would still take him in a choice between the two.
