maybe its a good thing but for me that's everything right now, the only thing keeping my hopes in check.
this defense could be the equivalent of the 2007 offense (meaning it could break just about every record we have). under Aranda, White has the ability to put up the best numbers we've ever seen from an LSU LB. and this might be the best pair of CBs we've had starting at once, so factor in that Delpit played better as a Fr S than Jamal Adams did, and this could be the best secondary we've ever had. thats gonna give KLC and the rest of the DL an extra second they didn't need to begin with.
we should honestly be legit NC contenders based on the defense alone.
Id would have loved to have paired Aranda with Yurcich from OK State. I think that offense is plug and play, so even if he was only a temp it still would have given us an instant spark and the shift in momentum we desperately need. the program won't be "fixed" by a good season this year, but it can be seriously fricked by a bad season.
since coming back to life in 2000, even our worst seasons were decent, we've never had a 4-8 like Notre Dame two years ago, so as bleak as things feel now, as bad as the national disrespect is now, what happens if we actually bottom out?

I would feel extremely better. It’s the unknown and lack of success on record of our current OC that has me uneasy.
I’m hoping the first game shows us we’re headed in the right direction.

I mean Yeah I would feel
More
Comfortable if we had a QB who has fielded a great offense in the last 20 years.
Ensminger is unknown, outside 2016 and 2008 interim stints, which were 2 different experiences.

Is it bad that I'm optimistic about Burrow because he wasn't developed at LSU?

I don't know what ya'll are talking about.
Ed Orgeron said he's going to search America and find the best offensive mind and bring him to LSU. That was his campaign promise.
So either Steve Ensminger was the best OC he could find or O blatantly lied to the Administration and Fan Base.
In all seriousness - Yes, a young proven OC would raise levels of optimism but the truth is- It doesn't matter if O continues to put his hands all over it.

shite. If we had Kendall Briles, I would be like ...

Winning cures everything. Let’s win the first game and go from there. The same talking heads that are laughing at us now will be drooling over us if we somehow beat Miami followed by an undefeated Auburn team in week 3

And people wonder why we are skeptical and have little faith in Orgeron.
If you are a no nonsense, win at all cost, straight forward coach who plans to succeed, how can you not go out and find one proven OC?
Are people really that stupid they believe Ensminger was his first and best choice?
I would just like a HC coach who does what he says he’s gonna do and doesn’t try to cover it up with more lies like Ensminger has always been the best available OC.
I give him zero room for excuses for this exact reason. He should win every single game. No reason not to compete against everyone on our schedule.

A legit HC I would be excited and expect 9-10 win season. Everyone around the program knows O has lost control of the team

I'd be more optimistic than if we hired a guy who didn't even want the job. Oh wait...

It just doesn’t matter. The magic, it just ain’t dere no more. But we comin...

I’m more excited to see this offense under ensminger than I would have been if Canada had been retained.

At least we have all the O and E haters on one thread. Sh*t, why bother to even watch this season. You all want O to fail so get out your Miami colors and pull for the 'Canes.

Please point out how what I said was wrong. Did Ensminger not state he didn't want the job? Is that the kind of coach you want, the reluctant kind?

A better OL is more valuable than a better OC

In all seriousness - Yes, a young proven OC would raise levels of optimism but the truth is- It doesn't matter if O continues to put his hands all over it.
Didn't they have a meeting, but it was reported that Gilbert wanted to bring in his OL Coach from USF and O had already hired Cregg, so the hire was nixed? So why not have 2 OL coaches like many programs? One coaches Centers/Guards, the other Tackles/Tight Ends. What's the problem with that set up?. It was apparently unacceptable to either O and/or Cregg.
Remember, Orgeron had to talk Ensminger into taking the job. He didn't want to do it. The 2018 "E Guarantee" Experiment doesn't exactly inspire confidence. what to expect...……….
