or $19 gas

Sure, if you get 450 miles/gallon.

950 miles to Omaha
1900 miles round trip
1900 miles/$19 = 100 miles/dollar
100 miles/dollar * 4.50 dollars/gallon = 450 miles/gallon

In your attempt to be witty, you missed the joke. The poster you were replying to was suggesting in a humorous manner that gas might cost $19/gallon this time next year.

If you listen to that politican from Michigan who drove from there to Dc and bragged she just passed every gas station on the way. She didn't mentioned that it took all weekend and electricity only cost her $500.

I disagree. I’ve traveled the world and some of my most special memories are the CWS in Omaha. Doesn’t get more American than tailgating in the June sunshine with burgers and beer before heading into the stadium for some good old fashioned baseball.

I did the math and i have 2 million hotel points and the hotel i go to serves free dinner a few nights a week so i got that covered and i have a co worker in lincoln so driving from lafayette to omaha ah maybe 185 dollars in gas when normally it take about 100 but biden increased gas prices across rhe country and id eat fish and potatos, chicken my whole time there and make it myself when i want something different to save on dollars. Myselfto spend a week there Probably id spend 600 to 750 or so around there with my free points. Thats gas, food, tickets. I not flying there, last time i farted so bad i stunk up the whole back few rows but hey they needed some different air freshener didnt like those rose pedals stuff

As a broke student, I did it for around $150. 2 cars, 8 dudes coming from BR. Broke up the trip driving to Bentonville and crashing with my cousin. Then made our way to Omaha. GA tickets were $15, ate PB&J's and cheap pizza. All piled in one hotel in Iowa 5 minutes from the ballpark for 2 nights. Cheap beer in an ice chest while waiting in line. Despite losing to UF, it was still a hell of a time being there. Won't be doing that next time we make it but wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

Talked to a guy in a bar in NC who said he was a teacher/coach in Omaha in the 90s. Some of the championship round tickets went on sale early, before anyone knew who was in it. He would have his students line up and buy the max number of tickets, then pray that a school like LSU or Texas with a big fan base would make the finals so he could scalp them for $$$.

He said he made darned good money scalping to supplement his meager teacher pay. He was pretty familiar with the Skip Bertman era. His wife looked embarrassed when he was telling the story, but he was proud of his forced child labor scalping scheme.

Depending on how long you stay, you can get it done for the $1,000-2,000 range. There's decent hotels 10-15 minutes from the stadium that range from $100-150/night. Seven nights would be in the $700-1,000 range. Decent, not great, places that are in safe areas - such as Microtel in Bellevue, which is south of Omaha and about 10-12 minutes from the stadium. There's a little bit nicer places like a LaQuinta in LaVista, which is about 15 minutes west of the stadium - all interstate so an easy drive. Food prices are probably the same here as down there - $7-9 value meals at McD's, $5 Biggie Bags at Wendy's. Not the greatest of food but cheap eating. All in all, you can probably eat for $20-30 a day. So, figure another $200 or so for food. Drinks, you'll have to figure that one out. I just bought a 30-pack of Busch Light for $20 at our local HyVee. I normally drink Coors Light but the Busch Light was on sale and my wife wanted the John Deere cans (I know, I know!). Usually you can get round trip flights for around $350 (probably a lot more than that now, haven't checked) - no telling what next year will hold. Of course, you would then need to rent a car for a week which would run you around $500-600 plus gas. So, probably around $1,000 total. You could probably drive your own car here and back for half that. So, I would probably count on around $2,000ish if you want to stay a week. It is worth it, though, especially if you enjoy college baseball and have never been. Wear your LSU gear around town and be ready for a lot of the locals to strike up a conversation with you (or just give you a 'Geaux Tigers!'). The love you hear that Omaha has for LSU and its fans is not exaggerated.

EDIT - forgot about tickets. The GA that many have mentioned is accurate. However, if you go to the afternoon games during the week, it is easy to get in. It's just hot as hell so bring plenty of sunblock and a hat. For reserved seats, I recommend walking around the stadium and pick some up in like the first inning. People are dumping them at bargain rates - $10-20 - after the game starts. No biggie missing an inning or two. So, you may want to tack on another $200 or so for tickets. Of course, it is all electronic tickets now so use caution when doing that. Parking is another expense. You can usually get away with $10 or so if you don't mind walking five or six blocks.

Fake news. All outfield seating is still GA.

You can find hotels about 20-30 minutes outside of the city to save. We found a deal for $100 a night at a decent hotel (stayed for 10 days)

Which hotel? The closest to that price I have found are Fremont ($150 a night) and Lincoln (Fairfield Inn for $98 a night). Lincoln is about an hour away, so you can do that and only spend about $40 a day on gas.

a lot of depends. If you drive or fly and how long you stay and where you stay. I brought my dad and son in 2017. We flew in on Friday and stayed until the next Wednesday. Cost me about 5K. We went to probably 6 games. The LSU game tickets were the most expensive. I bought good seats on the 1st base line and they were about $150 each for those games. Got some pf the others for $75 each.

We stayed downtown near the Stadium. I paid a little more than your budget but my dad had never been and will probably never go back so I wanted it to be a nice trip. We went to J Gilberts steakhouse for Father's day which was a great night out.

It cost the Colts the Super Bowl when Peyton used it one too many times and the Saints got a pick six to seal the game when Porter took it to the house baby!

Buddy and I went in 2015, and I don’t remember exact costs, but this is close:

Lodging: We stayed at Ameristar, which is where most of the players parents, former players, Skip, etc stayed: around $300 per night x number of nights.

Travel: we drove and it was $300-350 for gas (more than double that now with current prices). The road trip was fun and allowed us to stop and some cool places along the way.

Tickets: you can get general admission like others have said for $65-75 for a booklet. We did this and after the first few days, as people stopped going, you can go to the ticket window and “upgrade” your seats. You wait in line, they tell you what they have, give you more than what you paid for your GA ticket, and you pay the difference. One of us would do this while the other waiting in the GA line holding our spot (you have to get there several hours before the gates open). Also, this allows you to enter right before the game and perhaps get better some tickets from people trying to sell them. We were able to get suite tickets 5 mins before first pitch for $75.

Food: estimate eating out 3 times a day, times how many days, or bring camping equipment to cook.

Only other expenses would be gambling because there isn’t shite else to do there, and alcohol. Downtown has some cool micro breweries and restaurants. If Lsu can win the first game when you go and get in the winners bracket, you can time up going to some MLB parks (KC, St. Louis, Cubs).

The afternoon games can be really hot. Get seats in the shade if you can. We made the two final games vs Florida and had great seats, but they were $180 per ticket, per game.
