The more important question is which coaches will maximize their talent?

Talent can be developed. The 2003 BCS Champion Tigers are a example.

We don’t have a proven qb
I beg to differ. I like our qb situation as much as anyone's.

Talent as in potential or proven depth? Bama, UGA, UF, AU?

Don't know why everybody thinks they will beat us this year

1) Miss St has a d*^m strong team with loads of experience
2) They pummeled the Tigs 7-37 last year, so they are bristling w/ confidence

3) They enjoy a BYE WEEK ADVANTAGE coming into that game

4) This game is sandwiched between Georgia and Bama for LSU. The very definition of a trap game.

5) Coach O was the inspiration for that Ray Charles song, "Born To Lose".

I frankly can't see how LSU beats Miss St.

I could totally see LSU beating Georgia then coming out flat against Miss St.

Bama and UGA probably. Not sure about the others. Florida always has a ton of talent, even though they have been coached horribly in recent years.

More proof of how far LSU has fallen.

LSU had 5 players on the preseason all-SEC teams. That’s three deep. Alabama had 7 on the first team alone. That’s not a small disparity in talent, it’s meaningful.
We don’t have a proven qb, rb, or wr on offense and only return a handful of starters on defense.
You’ve got to stop believing the local press.

WTF are you talking about? I said Bama had a more talented roster than LSU.

Right, but in this thread I want to tackle this less important question of pure talent. I think at the end of the day we will be just as, or more, talented than everyone we play save for Bama.

Definetly two teams we play on our schedule. We are pretty close to Auburn, but play them on the road. A&m is pretty close to lsu as well. A couple others have more experience.

You also said lsu has as much, or more talent than ga. They clearly don't.

Georgia lost a lot of good players from last year’s defense. You could make a case that their roster is a little more talented than ours, but it’s close. Our recruiting classes were ranked higher in 2015 and 2016, theirs were higher in 2017 and 2018. Who’s been hit harder by attrition and early NFL departures, I don’t know enough to say.

You have to remember too that people are picking Georgia high in part because the East is less challenging. People figure their record will be good because of the games with Vandy, Kentucky, Tenn, etc. plus 3 non conf cupcakes and Ga Tech.
