I was thinking Archer was head coach of Kentucky at one point, but he was actually only DC. My bad.

A&M wasn't an SEC school when he coached there. Same with Curry at GA Tech.

plus some that coached at multiple current SEC schools, before/after those schools were in the SEC

Jackie Sherrill was at A&M before they were SEC, then Miss State
Lou Holtz was at Arkansas before they were SEC, then South Carolina
Fran went from Bama to A&M before they were SEC

Is the reading comprehension really this bad or am I the one losing my mind?

Paul Dietzel - LSU and S Carolina
Mac Brown coached at two “SEC schools” at times when neither were actually in the conference.

Just Lane so far at schools in the SEC at the time he coached and all three were original SEC members.

If Mullen gets another shot in the SEC, it may be him as well.

Here is what AI gives me as an example of coaches who coached 2 or more SEC schools. Those in bold left 1 SEC team for another.

Bear Bryant: Coached at Kentucky (1946-1953) and Alabama (1958-1982). He also coached Texas A&M before they joined the SEC.

Nick Saban: Led both LSU (2000-2004) and Alabama (2007-2023) to national championships.

Steve Spurrier: Coached at Florida (1990-2001) and South Carolina (2005-2015).

Houston Nutt: Served as head coach for Arkansas (1998-2007) and Ole Miss (2008-2011).

Tommy Tuberville: Coached Ole Miss (1995-1998) and Auburn (1999-2008).

Doug Dickey: Head coach at Tennessee (1964-1969) and Florida (1970-1978).

Harry Mehre: Coached Georgia (1928-1937) and Ole Miss (1938-1945).

Before the establishment of the SEC

Mike Donahue: Coached LSU (1904-1906) and Auburn (1908-1922).

Hahaha...

It's that bad. I missed the SEC part - I thought it just said overall...

My mistake!
