Is it done opening night at home vs UTSA?

Does it happen in 2020?

Do you wait longer?

It will be put up and honored.
We won’t retire it.

Do it now and make Joe wear a different number for the playoffs. Can’t take any chances.

The equipment department never issues the number again. It isn't officially retired until they put his statue right next to Billy Cannon in front of the stadium

About 10 years is probably good

Retiring it right away is weird

Retire the number.

No Tiger will wear #20 in Tiger Stadium ever again. #9 deserves the same honor.

I’d rather them retire it than turn it into another number that’s passed down

Yes, they retired Billy Cannon's number the next year. Don't know why Joe would be any different....

I think you wait a few years until he wins his first Super Bowl to capitalize on the publicity.

Numbers retired before like ~2007 can't be worn again. Cannon, Shaq, Pettit, Pistol, Skip Bertman. Numbers retired after that date can be worn again, unless otherwise stated when they pull the trigger.

Joe should be accorded every honor the school is capable of giving.

If we go 15-0, then retire the jersey.
