why is LaRon Landry never mentioned in these lists?
Because most people who post here are too young to remember him. There are kids in college now who weren’t born yet when he was a senior
That said, he was amazing

Probably not top 5, but probably top 10.

His performance will be stained by such a crap season but he was a really great S for LSU. Hustled all the time and I saw several times where he almost single-handedly caused a fumble to put us back into critical spots in games. Seemed like when he hit too even TEs bigger than him they'd go 20 yards flying. We need to find someone in the portal like him again. Going to be hard to replace the type of player he was.

Playing that role in the pussification era of football makes what he did even more amazing. I would love to have seen him in the pre-targeting era. He wouldve destroyed some people.
I was about to say the exact same thing. I think it has to be way harder to play with that level of physicality in today’s game than it was for guys like Chad Jones and LaRon Landry.
I think Haulcy’s single season is up there with some of the great LSU safeties.. maybe top 5, certainly top 10. Hard to put him in the same tier as some of the guys who did it for multiple years at LSU though.

Idk but I love having a big safety that ain’t afraid to lay the wood.
Yep, all that plus WR hands. He’s up there with Leron Landry and company.

Stovall

Mathieu
Landry
Reid
Adams
Delpit
Jones
Jackson
Burns
and then maybe Hallcey. He was the best we have had in a while though. Hope that changes quickly!

Liffort Hobley, Jeffery Dale, Chris Carrier, and Johnny Robinson need to find a place on this list.
