small print the new money contract to say, can't leave in three years or 60% of the money is recouped.

It is difficult and the transfer portal is damaging to the sport

Not to mention that changing teams makes it really tough to be developed as a pro prospect.

Underclassman development is non existent now. It’s basically 1-2 year stints until a donor from another school offers more money to get them to transfer. As a result, you have a bunch of players who constantly keep getting transferred around to different programs and consequently get little development.

BK had 2 seasons to develop that 2023 class... he dropped the ball. Those kids feel like it's time to move on and get a fresh start. They only have 2-3 years left to play. Now he has to patch the roster back up.

No contracts, no accountability, no performance benchmarks…..no commitment and no need for it in this current Shitshow. So many kids will actually never make it to NFL because of this. Not sure what answer is but this system helps no one. Game is suffering, fans are disillusioned, coaches paid but frustration abounds, players gettin paid but longterm chances of nfl are gonna be hit hard.

The TP was designed with the logic that coaches can leave but players cannot. However, coaches cannot leave without consequences, as there is usually some penalty for breaking the contract. Currently there is no punitive measure when players jump from one school to the next, so long as they are making adequate NCAA determined progress toward earning a degree.

Yeah, I don't understand why you don't go all in on proven talent at the collegiate level through the portal. More 5 stars don't pan out than do.

You basically just have to hope that you recruit a lot of kids that will develop how you want them to, but also won't leave you.

Portal day eventually as big as early signing day. More and more coaches moving away from big money 18 year olds. Not a bad thing to me.

I don't know but I hear all the time about how bad the 2021 class was and it looks better than our 2023 class as of now.

Maybe it’s time to have nfl type rosters with amount of $ required to fund teams

Or maybe go back to fr and jv teams with a 85 man roster and have games so those players can develop
You can call players up to varsity during season

Don't know if one can nor should be expected to given the present climate. Should one try to it would be prudent to have a roster of 3 and 4 stars with a limited number of 5 stars. You don't build sustainable rosters with 5 stars
