2-8 or 4-6 are possibilities, but 3-7 is likely. Beating down Arkansas at home yesterday was nice, but Arkansas was a bad team playing on the road. The win moved LSU from 95 to 93 NET.
The next 6 games will be against teams that rate significantly better than LSU in the advanced analytics. LSU has one win this season over a team that was significantly better in the AA, Texas A&M, and they have a win over Ole Miss, who rates out marginally better than LSU.
An upset would be nice, but it's probable that LSU is about to go on a 6 game losing streak. That will put them on a 1 - 9 stretch in SEC play. As of today, they are still a bottom 1/3 team but improved over last season.

I can see a 6-4 finish, they can win last 5 games after a tough stretch on front end of that schedule

this team is better than last year's there is no debating that. The tell for me is will we develop and improve as the year goes on. That's what I'm looking for.
I hear ya. I do think they look like they have improved this year from the OOC schedule up until now. They looked pretty bad for a good bit of the OOC schedule. But yeah, I want to see if they can at least finish out the SEC schedule like they have started it. I'd be happy if so.

I think we get at least 3 wins, I think 5 is the hope, and 4 is the midline.
We should beat Mizzou, Vandy and probably Arkansas again. Arkansas could be a problem simply because it's their last home game, but for them it's sandwiched between road games at Kentucky and Alabama. They probably tap out completely by then.
You want all 3 of them.
We could win the Miss State and UGA games, since those are home games against unranked teams.
We might win at Florida, since they're not elite; but it's still a road game.
You'd like 2 wins from that group.
At Tennessee and at South Carolina, forget it, those are losses.
Home against Alabama and Kentucky- probably losses, if we could somehow steal one it would be huge.
Projecting, 4 wins gets us to 16-15 for the season, which I believe is a major goal for this staff. They HAVE to get that.
5 wins gets us to 9-9 in conference, which I think is another big goal on the checklist. I think it's possible, and would really be a good finish.
Anything beyond that would be fantastic.

Honestly, I’d hate to see us get into the NCAA Tournament this season. After watching Duke/UNC last night, I’d hate to be embarrassed. Those boys can ball. We’re not quite there yet unfortunately

The NCAAT is all about upsets one of those teams is gonna lose to someone they shouldn’t.

I think we finish 5-5, 9-9 overall
That would be a tremendous finish.

Does this get us into the tournament? I would assume we would have to win a few games in the SEC tournament.
Not even close. You’d have to win the SEC tournament.

A totally asinine comment. I never understand this point of view

I think four of those games are at least 50/50 shots for an LSU win. Also included in the 50/50 category is Arky on the road.
Kentucky--even in the PMAC, is still very likely an LSU loss

They’re both better than us by a considerable margin but they aren’t NBA teams
North Carolina lost their previous game this week to a team that is literally worse than us in Ga Tech.

I think we can beat Bama at home but suffer on the road against Florida. The rest looks accurate to me.
NIT bound!

But you can see it coming from a mile away - LSU vs McNeese in the first round. You know it will happen.
I just hope their coach would be ok with playing us in our gym....err..arena.

I would still rather have the opportunity than not.

Championship or bust. That’s the expectation.

Yeah Georgia Tech beat Duke earlier this year too. It makes no sense to not want to get in the tournament because you're afraid of losing. Everyone in the tournament loses except for one team.
