I’m sure some of these countries wanted money, facility upgrades and assurances. New Orleans and Baton Rouge don’t have the fields necessary. LSU would’ve had to move its on camps, Saints are in OTA’s and Tulane doesn’t have the space.

Because Mark Lee is terrible at his job and the field during the off-season is already shite

Always laughable to see how bad the field looks in recruiting pics from SEZ clubs.

Anyone remember when there was supposed to be an international soccer match at Olympia.
I think it was El Salvador and Nicaragua or some other shitty CONCACAF teams, but the match was canceled because the field was shite, which is hilarious because those teams regularly play their home World Cup qualifiers on cow pastures.
Good job BREC.

The posters here DO NOT like soccer at all.
A sport that heavily involves cupping one’s hands under a 300 lb lineman’s gooch to receive something called a “football” is totally cool however.

My favorite is “it’s a communist sport!”
In one sport if you finish at the bottom of the league you get kicked out to a lower league, lose money, etc.
In another sport if you finish dead last you not only stay in the league but receive the top draft pick.
Which one sounds like communism comrades?

I heard You have to guarantee the World Cup 80% of your hotel occupancy, and of course have a large inventory to offer. BR doesn’t have it, New Orleans does. The NFL takes 95% of hotel inventory for Super Bowls.

To be fair, they do have a Group of Death. Maybe they would like it.

I never heard a soul mention soccer in Louisiana. Why would we care?
Posted on 6/11/26 at 4:50 pm to reauxl tigers
They don’t want the stadium clearing out at halftime due to ridiculous traffic conditions.

Cant stand soccer. Boring. Went to game in Auburn cause some friends ask me to go. Was quite a spectacle. . The fans are nuts. They came from all over the US and many foreign countries. 88 thousand. Messi is light years ahead in popularity than any athlete alive or dead. Has 550 MILLION Instagram followers.Net worth over billion from the sport..

Tiger Stadium must be more narrow than Kyle Field?
More narrow? Perhaps. But definitely straighter.
