How did LSU miss out on being a World Cup training site?

I’m seeing Messi showing up to Kyle Field and Jordan Hare for training. I’m not a big soccer guy but I can’t help but feel jealous.

I want to see those footballers’ jaws drop when they step foot inside Tiger Stadium.

That is all.

Tiger Stadium must be more narrow than Kyle Field?

But also, proximity to Houston. (host city)

I don't know but seeing Marcel Reed do a jersey swap with Messi like he was supposed to know who tf he is was funny as shite

Tiger Stadium was on the initial list of potential stadium sites, but was eliminated in the first round of cuts because the field is too narrow for soccer and LSU didn't want to have to do major stadium renovation work to accommodate that.

Playing soccer in Baton Rouge at 2pm in the middle of June/July sounds like a death wish

I thought that was funny too. Give him an A&M jersey with Messi on it maybe but wtf is he going to do with a Marcel Reed jersey?

Argentina is playing their games in Kansas City (6/16), Dallas (6/22), & Dallas (6/27).

Not sure why that brought them to College Station & Auburn, Alabama

You are mistaking it for the Superdome. NOLA submitted a bid utilizing the Superdome but did not make it past the first round. Not saying TS was never considered, but it never happened beyond just 'politician talk'. NOLA was a real bid though.

The euros are falling out due to the heat. Can you imagine them in that south Louisiana humidity?

Too be fair, there are certainly some teams that are more adapted to our summers.

Soccer and A&M. Seems like a natural fit.

Nope, Tiger Stadium was on the first round of stadiums cut. By that point over 80 stadiums in the country were being "considered"
