be so mediocre at best. Is this a Les Miles situation?

Georgia has better bullpen arms....georgia

Equating CPM with Les?
What a fresh take!
The intelligence of this site never fails to astound me.

Can you make an argument where OP is wrong?

granted you're right. but it looked like tonight they couldn't score any runs.

They don't recruit well....they started two players that have a batting average less than 0.150 today. Cranfords batting average is what a 0.083 or 0.076? I didnt see how many at bats he had. I know he was 1/12 after the bottom of the first inning.
This team is awful because the recruiting since 2017 has been awful. The past class brought in some great freshman but the three classes before that were really bad.

Maybe we aren’t recruiting as well as you think
Maybe we are recruiting guys that skills don’t translate to college very well
Maybe we are recruiting guys that have reached their ceiling with potential
You don’t walk on a different baseball field & suddenly forget basic mechanics
Just because they were a really good high school player doesn’t mean you are good enough for SEC baseball

You have to know what to do with the talent. Pulmonary has never served himself well by hiring Yes Men as Assistants.

Georgia should never be as bad at baseball as they’ve been under their current coach. They have more talent in state than anyone but Florida and A&M, but unlike A&M they’re the big dog in state.
They are perennial under achievers.

Like there isn't a shite load more home grown baseball talent in GA than LA? Did you watch the pitching today from UGA BP? LSU's issue is marginal SEC talent in it's upper classmen on the roster.

Georgia was the #2 ranked team in the Country when Covid shutdown happened

Exactly. The best upper classmen in the lineup this year has been Beloso who bats 0.225 and pops the ball up every at bat.

When was the last time LSU was ranked in the top 5 and did anything with it? 12 years ago

This is exactly right. The freshman class are really the only thing helping this team hang on.

Where’s the talent ? Besides Morgan, Crews, and Marceaux this team is mediocre at best in talent

Where did I mention LSU?
That Georgia wastes their natural advantages has nothing to do with LSU.

The recruiting is not where it needed to be. The top 4 guys in the lineup are quality guys but they’re freshmen and sophomores. Thompson is a good shortstop and would be a good end of the lineup hitter but he’s the next best guy in the bunch. Everyone else is suspect both defensively and particularly at the plate.
And I haven’t even mentioned the pitching which was supposed to be a strength of this team. The starters were okay as a group but the bullpen has been a circus.
You throw in the youthfulness of this team playing so many freshmen and sophomores and a coach that has lost touch with his players and the game (I still can’t figure out what his philosophy is, small ball with guys that can’t hit for power, can’t bunt and can’t make contact?) and it’s just a mediocre product.
