quote:I mean shite. I certainly do hope AJ improves and he probably will. But the difference between Mett in '12 and '13 was pretty glaring and he was STILL a good bit better than AJ in '12.
And it would be saying that after next year Jennings would be an NFL quality qb which you have to be seriously smoking some good stuff if you believe that
AJ would have to make one of the most drastic improvements ever seen in college football over the course of the next two years to even be in the Mett discussion.

average qb and passing offense away

Having the #40 QB would likely do it.
I mean hell. People don't comprehend just how absurdly good our running game is. If you merely focus on stats, you might not see it but our running game is working despite defense completely selling out to stop it. Normally, even good running games grind to a halt under such circumstances.

With our qb's we are more 6-10. With a solid qb we are 1-3.

And TCU as it stands today has about as realistic a shot at the playoff by the end of the season as we do: none.

Close enough that most of us are excited about next year. I hope Les and Cam use the spring practices to their advantage by working on more diversity in the passing game. Our bread and butter will always be running the ball, but we have to have a quarterback who can complete at least 60% of his passes.

One position. Unfortunately it's the most important position on the team.

The answer to the OP's question is 1 completed hail mary and 1 alien adbuction of a referee crew.

Line play will be worse. It will take another half year of corrections.
Could possibly be second in the west.

we are one junior transfer quarterback away

It TCU wins out, they are in.
Nope they need help. They are really hoping Miss St beats Bama. If Bama wins you would be looking at 2 SEC teams in with likely FSU and Oregon. TCU will need help to get in.
And don't get me started on how TCU is in over Baylor right now, after Baylor beat them.

I am worried that Chavis only signed a one year extension and we may be closer to having the same offense with a weaker defense.
Chavis is not the only DC in the country ya know....

Im afraid a lot further away than people think. Harris is on the bench for a reason. AJ has shown no improvement and we have no QB help coming in this class. Its the same ole same ole.

me neither - it's probably time

No QB no top five
Right.
QB is the most important position on the field at any level (little league to the NFL). If you don't have at least a serviceable QB that can execute plays on critical downs your team will disappoint.
