Honestly I think we are 2 maybe 3 years away from being on Bama and UGAs level.

I think we are two to three yeas away from proving if this coaching staff can get us to that level.
I think the offensive coaching staff is in place.
Defense is unproven at every position. Recruiting and execution.

STILL blaming O...the guys that stayed are probably the BEST guys on defense...Those other guys that left had the option to stay but still left probably because they didnt want to play for BK and other reasons...I'm not saying I want O back what im saying is THIS IS BK's TEAM...hes had 2 recruiting and portal cycles PLUS everyone says he only started with 39 or whatever players...STOP with that B.S. you cant have it both ways...if there were only 39 players so of 100 thats ONLY 39% and most of them are GONE so its even LESS....THIS IS BK's TEAM plain and simple

CBK told us in spring LSU was still at least 2 yrs away from consistently competing with UGA and Bama for SEC chips but we didn’t want to listen and success with SEC West title in yr one tricked us fans expectation level but CBK knew

He got called out by everyone when he said A&M was a better job than Ohio State so that makes sense. I like Pate but he’s no different than any other media person who has a bias and people who say he calls it like it is are just being naive. He’ll promote anything if he’s getting paid to do so, or he will not discuss controversial plays during a game if it involves a certain team because his relationship partner happens to work for said team.

All these guys just paid to peddle certain narratives. Follow the money trail. With our local media, Jordy and the goons will actively promote certain coaches because they want access so bad. If their guy doesn't get the gig, they throw temper tantrums and take shots at the current coach. See Guilbeau and Jordy.

To have that kind of program (not just an occasional team), you have to recruit consistently top 10 and mostly top 5 classes. It is hard to maintain that level over an extended period. The closest we have came is under Miles, but he didn't have what it took to get us over that final hump.

We had a 3rd quarter lead in all 3 losses this year. Our offense is the best in the country ,and thats without an elite RB. Defense is obviously in a rebuild.

Next year offense should be good but wont be great. Hopefully defense can make a huge improvement, but 9-3 would probably be a decent record next year as well, all things considered.

will we? what proof do you have?
the fact that we may be this year

The fact that our left tackle didn’t allow a sack all year

The fact that we have a starting left tackle at almost any school as a back up.

Why be a shithead?

Everything is going to change in the next 9 months, and the difference between being a top 1~3 team versus a top ~10 team won't mean what it does today. 24 months ago, LSU hired away the coach from arguably the most storied program in all the land. Yes money, but Kelly also realized that realignment + portal was going to push ND even further away from elite status, while LSU is going to be in that number.

I think that we are ahead of them on the offensive side of the ball. The defense is still being built; we will have to see how Perkins, Womac, Weeks, Toviano, and all of the other players pan out. I do not see us being really good until year 5 under Kelly. If we can land some really good defensive players in the portal, it could be year 4.

Build a defense and we’re right there with them. We played UGA last year in the SEC CG. I didn’t get the feeling that they were that much ahead of us. We beat Bama last year. This year, we had the best offense in the country, but we’re still recruiting for the defense.

The defense suffered the most from the post Coach O departure. We’re having to rebuild the defense from the ground up. That takes time. Next year should be a really good year. I’m not saying we will win it all, but we should be able beat everyone on our schedule. No one should boat race like they did this year.

Not in top 12 now with JD5 so thinking they will be in top 12 next year without him is a stretch.

If this were a 12 team playoff, we are 1 game out now.

Beat Ole Miss, we are probably ranked No. 9.

So, pretty close.

I think the defense is closer than we might think. We have a lot of young talent on the team, and next year they’ll get their shot. As much as I would have liked for Matt House to rotate the young guys in, that’s not always the best thing to do for the long term.

We are still at least two years off in terms of line depth. And, that's being generous.

Next year could be rough if we don't get massive improvement at all levels of the defensive side of the ball.

How so? If they'd been rotated in they would be better next year.

Here’s why I’m never worried: I’ve seen what two certified retards can do with LSU. We now have the closest thing to a Saban since Saban running our program. Championships will come. Just give him a second.
