Is it conceivable that Wade is re-instated just in time to pick back up on recruiting, save the class, keep Smart, and make another run in the tourney next year?
I understand that. The question, however, was what was possibly accomplished by the suspension.

What’s left for the NCAA to take away?
The lifeblood of every NCAA athletic program - SCHOLARSHIPS.
Basketball has so few players that a roster/team can be built quickly. Take away the ability to do that and it can take years to recover.

Basketball ball has like twelve scholarships. We only played 8 people this year. The NCAA never takes away more than like 3 scholarships.
We won’t even be able to fill our scholarships right now, and if we do they’re going to be with like NAIA level players.

It's possible that LSU avoided the "loss of institutional control" infraction with the suspension.
Again, we won't know until this is all settled, which is why I prefer not to overreact now, I'll wait to overreact.

I'd be curious to know what they thought the chances of that were, versus the chances of it being alleviated (and by how much) though the suspension.

Bosses asked for a meeting with his attorneys present, he declines, hence we remain at this stalemate.
I don't really agree that CWW was in the wrong here. First, I find it hard to believe that it was that simple. Alleva request to meet with him and CWW declines.. Just because..
But even before that. Why didn't Alleva talk with him before making a decision to suspend him? It seems like suspending him was a knee jerk reaction then he tried to put it on CWW by requesting that he go meet with Alleva.
If Alleva wanted to talk with him about reinstating him, why didn't he have a conversation with him before making the decision to suspend him?

This whole situation is crazy and handled poorly.
I want wade to coach but I also feel like all the fans that keep comparing will wade to nick saban are completely irrational.

“ Protect the basketball program”
How exactly does suspending the basketball coach who has already coached the team to the SEC championship protect the basketball program?
There are no LSU or NCAA regulations which demanded LSU to have that meeting at that particular time. Therefore, the majority of the bad PR directed towards LSU was self inflicted to this point in time.

The part about the head coach being recorded talking to a convicted felon on an FBI wiretap that created this whole mess?
Okay, if you make that argument, my question is.. Why have there been nothing mentioned about Bill Self and Kansas?
And the player CWW was caught on wiretap talking about making an offer to was found to not have received anything.. So CWW mentioned making a strong arse offer to a player who ended up committing to LSU, but was found not to have received anything.
So.. Where is the problem?

That's where Alleva and Alexander show their invertebrate nature. Probably acted too hastily, but I'm sure they're thinking better safe than sorry.
Personally, I find that the athletic department is currently being better run than the university as a whole. From what I'm hearing from people I know who work at LSU, it's a disaster zone. I'd get rid of F'King before Alleva.

You have to understand Ree hates Will Wade with a passion because in his sick twisted mind Wade’s success somehow hurts or overshadows Orgeron. I know it makes no sense but it’s Tiger Ree we’re talking about so why should it.

Or the administration trying to protect the basketball program and university?
You need new material. This is at least the third time you've posted this same gif TODAY.

This is the second worst handling of a situation. And this is a list that includes multiple awful hirings, the Les Miles situation held across 2 separate seasons, the ruination of the game day experience for the average fan, the Florida football mishandling and of course the Duke situation. So between all of these small mishaps, this is second.

This. And Ree isn’t the only one.

Only a demented LSU fan would even think this shite. Why do you think there would be a division among the sports programs at LSU?
I know why. It's because of fricked up fans like you. All of the programs were posting their support of the basketball program the day they won the SEC.
Oh, and since you are such a huge basketball fan, why don't you compare all of the basketball and Will Wade threads you started against the ones I started. I don't expect a reply because you will be so embarrassed and wish you hadn't made the ignorant statement I am replying to.
We LOVE @lsubasketball! Couldn’t be prouder of our team and their FIGHT! #BootUp
Yeah, ONLY Rantards are shitty LSU fans.
