Anyone know anything about the Hapeville or Perimeter area ? Seeing some really good deals in those areas .. I'm not familiar with Atlanta at all. Decided to go to the game on a whim. Geaux Tigers.. Tia.

I’m not an OT baller. Best option I found was staying by the airport (Hilton DoubleTree) for $125/night and will take the MARTA to the game for $2.50. Very reasonable!

I drive down from Knoxville and always stay in the perimeter center area. Easy access to Marta to get back and forth to the game. Since it's a mall area there are a lot of dining options.

Depending on where you are driving from though it's on the north side of Atlanta so add an extra hour to your drive if from the south.

Thanks. Google just advised me that the crime rate in Hapeville was 353% higher than the national average with only 3% of cities being safer. Lol. Scratch that one. I think I'm gonna break up the drive and stay in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham.

Hapeville has some drastic differences in hotel locations. I would advise the Renassiance Airport Gateway, Springhill Suites or Marriott if you wanted to take MARTA to the game. It's on the Skytrain line from the airport to the rental car center next to the Intl Convention Center. Nothing really to do there but new and plenty safe and easy to connect to MARTA at the airport.

I got a Marriott in Buckhead for 125 a night after fees. Hotwire and hotel tonight have good deals. I've never been to Atlanta but I heard that Buckhead and Midtown are good areas to be in so I took that advice. I'll be taking the MARTA into downtown for the game.

Since we aren't leaving Alexandria til Friday afternoon we decided to break the drive up. I ended up booking about two hours away in hoover. Got a pretty highly rated 3.5 star for 60 a night with a promo code on an Express deal. Hyatt place. That's far out as hell but it'll be nice to break the drive up for me n Mrs jkyle

You can get the ritz or something for 250 a night, tons of decent places within walking distance for 100 bucks or so.

The 4 star in Downtown East for $180 on Hotwire is the Marriot Regency right smack in the middle of everything...... your welcome.

I'm thinking about staying in Birmingham or Tuscaloosa. What's parking and traffic like around the Peach Bowl? Should I take the subway in? Is it safe to park in Westlake?

We chose Hyatt place in hoover. Two hours away and right along the interstate.

NVM saw you already chose a place. Could have got a similar price 20 minutes away, oh well.

We booked through Hotwire and received The Westin in Buckhead for $89 a night.

Solid deal in my opinion.

Perimeter area is a good area and safe. I don't recommend Hapeville though. And don't stay on the south side of I-20.

Great areas. Although Ray Rice also killed Buckhead.

The hotels that used to have the highest crime rates were the nice hotels around the airport. (I had a pal who was an ATL detective when I lived there earlier this decade.)
