Chavis' D lost us about 3 games due to bad plays
i.e. read/react crap on 3rd down.

Aranda has lost 2 (ND and FL) but they were more to lack of execution by players if we get more DISCIPLINE and TACKLING we will be OK.

Chavis and Miles had their time here. But like fish they started to stink at a certain point. They had to go.

He had a great first year but has just been OK since

He was only given 2.5 mil because it was thought O would sink the ship if he left. Doesn't seem to be the case right now

3rd and Chavis brah. Also, the guy had generational talent here that he mostly didn’t even recruit himself. The guy was good 100 years ago and made a living off of LSU’s embarrassment of riches on that side of the ball. Just look at what he’s done since leaving..

You are why LSU fans have bad rep. Quit complaining.

Those games were legit Hail Mary wins, and if d Jax makes a tackle we win both. Chavis would let teams drive the whole damn field pretty much every time at the end of close games. He’d get conservative and basically give teams 10 yards for free with soft coverage and they’d just take it over and over.

Also the changing of offenses in the SEC has an impact.

People that use this as an excuse must not see that there are other SEC teams with higher ranked defenses than LSU. But I am sure Kentucky and Miss St. have much more talent than LSU right?

He’s not a lazy bastard that doesn’t recruit for starters. Oh, and he didn’t leave us for Faggie when given the opportunity.

Same thing with DA defenses. Please feel free to point out a game in which this didn't happen

During the time you’re comparing Chavis, he’s been fired from aTm and is currently coaching for a program that went 2-10 last year.

Yeah, we should have paid that guy $2.5 million per year.

Miles hired Steele and I've been impressed with the development of the Auburn D, that's who he got rid of to hire Aranda.

Chavis was lazy and the recruiting on dline dropped off significantly.

I'm not opposed to giving Corey Raymond a shot at that job when Aranda moves on. I think he's earned it.

We didn’t get rid of Steele, he left us for Auburn or for Alabama state taxes or retirement or some bs like that but the point is HE left US and we went out and got the best available which happened to be Aranda.

I mean you don’t even have to go back very far, Georgia last year is a good example or really any of the games from last year.

Aranda is NOT the problem. Injuries, bad fundamentals and tackling are the problem. Once those things improve, this defense will return to form. The bye week couldn't have come at a better time.

It seriously amazes me how many people think this defense won't get it fixed. They have shown flashes of great play with 3-and-outs and big 4th down stops, they just need to be more consistent.

Years 09-12 have nothing to do with 16-19

The landscape of college football has changed dramatically. It’s not a transitive property

Aranda has this as his responsibility.
It will be fixed AFTER it gets fixed,
not just talking about it.

I do think that at the speed we score has some influence:
a) the other team has more tries
b) our D stays longer in the field, perhaps not as aggressive because of it.

um...about 90% of them??

When did Aranda become the whipping boy of this fanbase? The offense doesn't suck hot garbage anymore so the fans have to have something to bitch about? I don't get it. LSU fans for years begged for a competent offense, they got a record setting offense, and now they went to bitch because the defense is only top 40 and not top 5, this with 4/5 starters out.
