People keep parroting this but it just isn’t true. Jay started the two hottest guys we had out of the pen over the last month, culminating in a strong outing vs a very good team last weekend. It’s easy to question after how they both folded, but they’ve been better than Evans or Cowan over the previous two weeks.

When they flamed out and gave up 6 runs, no coach in his right mind is going to put Cowan or Evans in down in a non-elimination game. That’s how DBU’s coach fricked any chance his team had of getting to this point.

If anything, Jay messed up by pulling Williams too early without needing to. He retired 12 straight and was only up in the 50s. Who knows how it plays out if he stays in and we don’t get further behind.

I agree. Braswell has gotten some good bunts down. Just not the guy you want up there with bases loaded and 2 outs. Jones, he looks defeated at the plate. Him and Frey's ABs in big situations last night were disappointing. It's what this team heavily lacks. LR came up gripping the crap out of the bat in big spots. Our "top" guys struck out and sulked back to the dugout.

On paper, last nights game shouldn’t have been close.

On paper, tonight’s game shouldn’t be close.

Make of that what you will

I do not think we score 12 runs. We got lucky to score 12 verses DBU.

I’m pretty sure one of those pitchers played in the majors and another was drafted. I know at least one player from that team played in the bigs.

For Stony Brook? Yes. But their big guns were used up by game 3 as I think game one went extra innings, and game two was close, as well

Point is, they beat us with the the back of their bullpen and let a junkball go deep into the game (maybe a complete game?) in game 3. Our hitter were coming out of their shoes trying to hit the ball out of the park and never worked the count or forced their pitcher to throw strikes. We swung at so many pitches that ended up out of the zone that game. That is what we have to guard against. We have to avoid beating ourselves and force them to send their equipment manager out for the last three innings.

12!? We scored 10 in two games against em. This LSU team does not score runs. We'll need to score 5 or more to win tonight. I'll go 8-4 Tigers.

We lost a super regional series against Stony Brook trying to play hero ball and their rag arms shut us down - they probably never threw a pitch over 90 mph.

Losing to Houston was more of an embarrassment than Stoney Brook. That SB was full of experience and 5 guys drafted.

Please let the stadium be loudest it’s ever been. This isn’t over.

Depends on Evans and Cowan, IMO. Few to no walks and good pitching, LSU wins even with just 12 hits like last night. I am an optimist: LSU 9 -UALR 2.

I placed a responsible bet on Little Rock to keep me from throwing a lamp across the room if we do lose at 11:30 at night.

UALR 8-5. BeBe Johnsons ensures that the lights are off at The Box again for Supers.

My phobia is that UALR will become the all-time embarrassment for baseball that will be referenced for decades. We should remember that Stony Brook had just beaten Miami in Miami to get to the Supers. They also had a few guys get drafted. They were a good+ (not great) team that we had never heard of who also got hot at the right time.

Thinking positively: let the team play a game under pressure and get used to it. If we make it to Omaha, there will be “hot” teams there too.

It’s gonna be ugly early with LR hanging around. Feel like LSU squeaks it out in the end. Hopefully Jay maintains his cool and doesn’t freak out like he did in the 4th last night. That’s when LSU lost that game.
