I'm not trying to take anything away from Jump. He is going to be a beast. But he can only throw 5 innings or so.

He's pitching pretty well tonight and his breaking ball is very clearly still a + pitch. A few cheap hits, i think all singles.

Skene’s was a 2 pitch pitcher the majority of the season. That power slider and FB. That’s it. This guy has 4 pitches he can throw for a strike when he wants in all quadrants of the plate. He isn’t on tonight. We will see where he ends up. 1 ER through 4 without his best stuff.

When are people gonna learn that baseball isn’t a 1-game kind of game. It’s a long season. I didn’t think Holman was going to pitch the whole season without giving up a run, but I think his first 24 or so innings are more indicative of his talent than tonight’s innings.
