LSU has a great shot to get to Omaha and win. Despite this seasons hitting struggles, if Anderson and Eyanson stay in character, we have a really good shot to advance from the regional and super regional. Recent history is a good reminder for perspective what this team has in common with previous Omaha teams.

2009- Ranaudo and Coleman
2013- Nola and Eades
2015/2017- Poche and Lange
2023- Skenes and Floyd

History also says you still have to score runs

Agreed with the starting pitching but averaging 3-4 runs per game against average to poor pitching will ultimately be this team’s demise.

Furthermore, history shows that not only do you have to score runs, you have to score more runs than the other team. That’s the key to success in baseball.

2025 LSU isn’t close to the lowest runs per game out of those teams listed in the OP. Our struggles are wildly exaggerated. Or at least when comparing ourselves to other teams who will be in Omaha.

I mean... Ole Miss hit a solo shot in the 1st and that was enough to win the game. Them adding an extra run was just insurance and a nearly insurmountable lead.

Like it's great and all we can hold teams to under 3 runs, but we struggle to score 3 runs. We are like Pirates. We have 2 great pitchers and we can't win because we literally can't score a run

I didn't think we had a lot of pitching depth in '23, glad they proved me wrong, I don't like to see us lose but I'm glad we didn't use a lot of arms and I think the bats will come alive, I feel pretty good about this team's chances going forward

You and your averages. You are blind. This team is absolute dog shite on the road, my eyes aren't lying. We may be fine to get to Omaha since we will be home, but once there it will likely be Hoover all over again.

I believe we ended the regular season tied for 9th in the SEC in runs per game.

Earlier in the season even when we were getting handcuffed by ace pitching we were able to make them have to work for it, fighting counts and putting pressure on them in different ways so they couldn'tget comfortable. Maybe scratch a few runs here and there, but just as much as anything, driving those aces out of the game early enough to tear into the relief arms.

I don't find that we're able to do that lately. We seem to let guys get in a groove and cruise.

There are spurts where the bats can mash, and spurts where the bats get mashed. Much too many of the mashed of late.

Not really. Look at SEC only stats. Then do it again for the last month. We are abysmal at the plate right now.

Ole Miss has scored 2 runs in their last 17 innings. Rebels didn't score after the first vs Arkansas.

History has also shown us that scoring zero points loses every single time.

I can tell you without a doubt that 0 runs won’t win a single game even if we had prime Clemens, prime Ryan, and prime Martinez as starters.
