Well, he's only started 4 games at this level, so of course he's a work in progress.

Our QB play was so sketchy over the last 4 years, that fans & media just assumed Mett would step right in and immediately put up ridiculous big numbers.

He's 4-0, and can obviously make some throws that his predecessors couldn't make. He'll only get better. I've seen him do lots of good things with the football, and the schedule set up well for him to grow into the position.

Herbie would know that if he wasn't a lame-arse backup quarterback.

Listening to it, it seems like he was trying to say they're at their most vulnerable state right now. Like if you want to play LSU, you should want to play then now.

Just from the tweet, I take it as him saying LSU is the most vulnerable of the top 5 or the top teams in the country. I could also see the poster above me's opinion being the correct one.

I also have absolutely no doubt that Herbstreit nor most of the other Mett critical people have not watched our games to really know what they speak of. They're looking purely at stats and choosing to comment based on that. Either that or they are watching and commenting with some bias or predetermined thoughts already established. I watch with every intent of being critical and while Mett has had some not so good moments, overall I think he's played pretty well.

If you know football like I do from having played it up to college, it's easy to see this kid is mistake prone. You wish he wasn't, but he is. What he is tryin to say is that this kid will be learning on the run this year. You hope he plays well against the Floridas and Alabama's, but it will be 50-50 which Mettenberg show up!

If the one that keeps makin the silly mental errors against small schools like North Texas and Idaho where he threw costly pics shows up, LSU is in trouble against these SEC powerhouses!

Mett is much better than what we had at QB the last 4 years. Kind of weird for him to heavily criticize Mett and make a big deal of the vulnerability of LSU.

Kinda like.....

Bama
Oregon
OU
Texas
FSU

Pretty stupid to think LSU is the only one in that position

Work in progress? Completely disagree with Herbie. Mett has peaked.

Agree that he's still a work in progress, but not that lsu is the most vulnerable.

Who isn't one hit away from losing their starting quarterback? This is the case with more teams than just LSU.
