He looked like a decent round baseball draft pick this year when he was finally healthy, but now he is on the football team and completely dedicating the fall to football. Hard to think he would see any playing time considering our right end room, right?

Not criticizing the guy, it just seems like he has a lot to lose and not a lot to gain by playing football. Or maybe a guy as injury prone as him needs to take more time off of throwing a baseball?

We have 2 freshmen TE’s and a FB In the TE room, so even if he can’t play a lick he’ll probably see the field at some point. Even if it’s just special teams or mop up duty.

Think he wasn't going to pitch in baseball and it was either this or start real life.
Also he was a good te in high school

Why would he not pitch in baseball? He’s a pro prospect is he not?

"He's a phenomenal football player, a phenomenal tight end and I think he's going to help us," Orgeron said Tuesday.

While no official offers came through for football, Storz did receive verbal offers from Michigan and Miami to play both football and baseball.

Had an injury that affected his velocity. Was sitting around 88-89 & maybe t91 a few times

Exactly. He could not get his velocity back, and he’s not much of a baseball prospect without it.

Call me crazy ....but I would love to see how this guy looks as a defensive end ( edge rusher)

Money.

Football has more scholarships than usual to use this year.

Baseball has fewer scholarships than usual to use this year.

I wish people would quit saying that like it's some beastly addition. We fricking traded out a Top 10 opponent (Texas) and 3 cupcakes, for...
2 cupcakes (Vanderbilt and Missouri). We have Arkansas on schedule, another cupcake. We also have Ole Miss and Miss State, each trying to put passing attacks in without talent to do so.

I think we get plenty of mop-up time

So, he is going back to baseball.

I thought he was done with baseball but that's not the case

If anyone on this board has the opportunity to play LSU football you all would kill for that jersey.

In the end, this is what it boils down to. If he can help the baseball team then Manieri will have him back. If not, he's a big body that can help at a position of need in terms of bodies in a fortunate situation where the football team is gonna have a few extra scholarships the next couple of years.
Also likely somebody with some clout likes him quite a bit to help things along.

you would think he could have a shot at DE too considering his size our depth, and that position is easier to play IMO.
