Tennessee isn’t building anything but possibly a new stadium.
A program that was absolute shite now has 3 trips to Omaha in 4 years with also 2 sec titles in those 4 years and now a natty with a 45 year old coach

There is no reason to be afraid and bury your head. Meet it head on instead

The other one will be enclosed so instead of tripping over the bullpen mound outfielders will now run face first into a wall.

I’m sure it won’t be done on the cheap and be a total eyesore either.

do you understand the difference between a wall, something that surrounds every baseball field and pitching mound within the field of play?

Why are we ok with LSU building things on the cheap and falling behind? Why is it “manly” or “cool” to accept how lsu and Louisiana in general does that?
Because a large % of the LSU fan base falls into the Ignorant Luzianner Trash category..........

their ballpark is fugly. the grandstand extends nearly vertically from behind the field and it looks like they tried to cram a ballpark in a 3x3 square.

The Box needs some updates given its not the pinnacle of college baseball stadiums anymore but I'm not holding the standard to Lindsey-Nelson, frick no

Correct, and that ignorant group think catch phrase is “it’s da best cuz LSU!”.

I don't see anyone saying it's the best.
What I do see is people saying it's not nearly the dump that the posters here try to make it sound.

All will have stadiums that are now newer than the box

All of those stadiums took fan experience and amenities into account far more than the new box. The new box went cheap in the disguise of “making it like the old box”

No one is claiming that is manly. I'm asserting that bitching and whining about a perfectly good Alex Box Stadium is womanly.

and yet when you read articles by outsiders who visit shite tons of Stadiums in America, Alex Box is alway right up near the top above most of those.

Is it perfect? no.
Can it be improved? of course it can.

is it a shite hole toiling away in the middle of the pack? hell no.

Stadium Journey's Top 25 College Baseball Ballparks of 2023

quote:

Stadium Journey has endeavored to visit each of the 301 Division One baseball parks in the nation. As of this writing, we have been able to produce reviews for all but 18 of them, no small feat when you consider the number of teams playing in new facilities or who have moved their programs up to D-1 in recent years. Our goal is to visit the remaining ballparks as soon as possible.

We have ranked all the D-1 ballparks according to our patented FANFARE rating scale, which takes into account a facility's food and beverage, game day atmosphere, surrounding neighborhood, fan support, accessibility, return on investment and more. Where two or more venues were tied, we consulted a Stadium Journey Council of Elders to break any ties.

#2 in the country: Alex Box Stadium

Because they are ranking based on the fact we have the best fanbase, prestige, etc

Not a single person could objectively say we have the second best stadium in our own conference

And dude look at your list in your link

Tennessee tech #6 ahead of Baum and Dudy

Maybe look at what you link next time

LSU is one of the only profitable baseball programs. Other teams should take note. Yes it would make a lot of sense if you want to turn a profit.

LSU is only profitable because Louisiana doesn’t have an MLB team.

or maybe sit back and think that maybe, just maybe there is more to a ballpark than just batter’s eyes and chairbacks.

So you stand by the notion tennesse techs ballpark is better than Arkansas and miss state?

Of course you don’t. Stop being ridiculous

But while we are at it, tell me one thing you like more about Alex box over miss state, Arkansas, and USCe stadium.

is it as pretty in pictures or TV?

no, definitely not, and I'm not saying it is.
I'm saying that looking pretty on the TV is only part of the equation.

there is a reason so many people want to visit parks like Rickwood, Wrigley, Fenway, and preferred Rosenblatt over that new modern pretty park in Omaha.

The Old Box was a dump compared to the new one.
but I'd rather watch games there.
